1. I had been hoping for a
somewhat bigger 'bump'. The repukes still have their convention to go.

2. Good lord man, these aren't polls taken after the Kerry speech.

Be better informed. Besides once we do get our eight or nine point bounce from Kerry's speech, we will not fear much from the Republican convetion as incumbant conventions rarely yield much in the way of a bounce.

5. Generally
The incumbent does not get bounce from their convention. In many cases, the convention of the incumbent party leads to a drop in the polls for the incumbent, as it is in the last few weeks that the undecided finally start to make up their minds. Historically, 85 percent of the undecided that are still left at the time of their convention decide against the incumbent and go for the opposition. The convention reminds them of what is pissing them off about the party currently in power, and it compacts all of the information into a brief few days.

Got a link for this, because I've heard the exactly opposite. Don't know for sure though, and I hope you're right.

3. Latest Fox News poll
Shows Bush leading 85% to 8% for Kerry with Nader threatening to take over second place at 7%. The poll shows Bush leading even in the District of Columbia. The margin of error is plus/minus 100 percent.
