Anybody from Scranton? Do we have anything else on this event? Looks like something's happening in our country. ;)

I guess I should post the story from the Kerry blog:

Most of our tired staff (myself included) fell asleep on the bus. Well when we arrived in Scranton this is what we woke up to. The streets packed with thousands of people. Many had been waiting outside for a few hours, but that didn’t quell their enthusiasm or excitement as John Kerry, John Edwards, Teresa Heinz Kerry, Elizabeth Edwards, Ed Rendell and Ben Affleck addressed the crowd.

2. This is so Cool! Ben Affleck is really serious about this
politics thing:) And that crowd for Kerry/Edwards is outstanding.

Hope they come to New York.

3. I'm a Scranton native. . .
. . .and I'm so proud of my hometown! I wasn't at the event but my dad was, almost (he had to pack it in after a while because of back problems)---he said the crowd was amazing, as you can see from that great picture! Go Kerry! :-)

Doesn't Scranton lean Republican?

Great Picture.

6. Nope, it's mostly Dem.
Or it was when I lived there (which admittedly was a while ago). The surrounding areas are more Republican, but the city itself is more Democratic.

7. More!
We are about to roll into Harrisburg for our next rally. I just heard there were 17,000 people at our event in Scranton. Simply amazing.

John Kerry just took to the stage in Harrisburg. On a Friday night at 9:00 pm more than 20,000 people came out to greet us. Wow!

10. I from the area ( but not for more much longer )
They had about 15,000 attend. There would have been more i'm sure, tickets were needed to attend and besides they had no more room to fit everyone.

I watched it here locally, it ran for about 1 hour. Kerry, Edwards, Teresa, Elizabeth , Gov. Rendel and a few Pa. politicans spoke. They spoke many of the same lines we heard at the convention, and clips we see on news shows etc. I remeber Teresa saying see had only 1.5 hours sleep.

This kind of event meant alot to this struggling part of Pa. they consider this area to be key to Kerry taking the state.

folks for his rallies, and they all have to be carefully screened.

Now tell me again, this is a 50/50 race? No way in hell.
