There is only one reason why a white Democrat would pick McCain over Obama. |
|
Edited on Fri May-09-08 03:44 PM by izzybeans
You know what that reason is. Do you honestly believe that the entire 55 or so percent of white voters that Hillary has won of late won't vote for Obama? Do you really believe that even 50% of that 55 would do such a thing? Do you?
While we sit here at the precipice of turning this country back towards the beacon on the hill that it always claimed to be, you mean to tell me democrats are going to pick McCain over Obama. And during a year where our registrations have soared...a year where our turnout has dwarfed Republicans to the point of scaring their asses shitless. You still mean to tell me that Obama is unelectable. And why? Because white people won't vote for him. And these supposed white people who call themselves democrats. You honestly think they are that racist?
All that one can say to you then is, "have you lost that much faith in your party? In its people? HAVE YOU?"
We will win this thing. And we will win this together. We will walk together as a reflection of the true character of this country.
I'm sorry your candidate lost. But our problems transcend hers. We've got bigger fish to fry...we've go more shitless assholes to overwhelm.

2. It's the only card Clinton supporters can throw right now.. all they have left |
|
They say "We won't vote for Obama" in hopes of scaring super D's into pushing Hillary through to the GE. It won't work - but it's all they have left.
After they settle down, watch Obama & McSame debate a few times and realize that McSame has no exit plan for Iraq, no healthcare plan, no plan on fixing the economy, a few SCOTUS nominations gleaming for an overturn of Roe v. Wade - most Clinton supporter will realize that they may be pissed that Obama is on top of the ticket, but that they'd rather have him pushing through Hillary's platform, then McCain pushing against it.

4. I think you are right. Most of them would rather be pissed of at Obama, but they damn sure don't |
|
want to be pissed on by McCain.
It's a gritty metaphor, but it's the best way I can find to describe it.
