The Super Delegate you do not want to be!!
Number 2026. If you're looking for a favor, do you really want to be the guy who comes after the winning delegate has been accounted for?

I read a post earlier stating that a California SD wants 20mil to expand the Hispanic and Latino voting bloc. Though his goal is admirable, it's not ethically or morally correct. A promise to work with the Hispanic and Latino community is more than fair; but money?

Now let's say that this California SD holds fast for his 20mil; does he seriously think he will get it after the magic number of 2025 has been achieved?

The tealeaves suggest that Edwards is holding his SD hostage for a cabinet spot. If he comes out after the 2025 has been achieved, what cabinet spot would he hope for?

Now some may take this the wrong way, but allow me to clarify. I am not saying that Obama owes favors to those who supported him early, nor am I saying that he shouldn't reward those that come in after the 2025, but it does lower your political capital. There is something to be said for those that recognized a leader when they saw one, and for those that took an early unpopular risk against the inevitable candidate. Do we not want leaders who have the foresight to recognize solutions to problems and willing to take calculated risks?

2. You are correct. My mistake. Edwards is not a SD, but my argument, on a ........
generic scale, still holds.
