Clinton pulls in only 550 when expecting 1,000 at livestock arena in Central Point, Oregon
Not a great showing for Hillary today:

In Central Point, Clinton apologized to the roughly 550 present -- the campaign estimated 1,000 -- for starting about an hour late. "But that's the story of my life: Fly against the wind, and eventually you'll get there.

14. One way to be truthful is actually reading the article the OP linked to...
...Hillary was one hour late, not two. The reporter stated 550 were in attendance, and the Clinton Campaign estimated 1000. Later that evening, Obama drew a crowd of 8,000 in Eugene. Facts are important, and often available... use them.

26. ok. Central Point is my home town. that arena is huge. they had
550 people. That valley is over a hundred thousand people, including two colleges that are active in politics. 550 is a HUGE slap in the face by indifference. You can say anything you want but those of us who know that place, this is a measure of her strength in southern oregon. Oregon has
always hated the Clintons. But don't let the facts bother you.

10. Wow, that's what we call "in the plains" of South Dakota - A fancy Smancy Sale Barn!
Sa-LUTE ! ;)

I lived in a town of 106 people and my uncle owned the Sale Barn in the larger town a few miles away. My dad and I would go each Saturday morning to help "shovel out" the stalls. I was treated like royalty because Uncle Herbert was a widower and the waitresses would give me free pie in their adjoining Cafe. Awe, the good times. Still ... I'll vote for Obama. :P

9. Yes, Southern Oregon is more conservative
But Oregon has voted for the Democrat in the last 5 elections. I believe Jackson County (which is where Central Point and Medford are) will go heavily for Obama.

27. not rednecks. there are pockets of dems in the middle of red.
that area is my heart's home. I grew up there. They want someone who will actually do what they say. Obama can get them by actually being the president we all know he will be. They hate Clintons, not dems.

6. I'm seeing differing numbers on the Central Point stop
This one says 1,200:

http://www.oregonlive.com/newsflash/index.ssf?/base/elections-0/121030767046220.xml&storylist=orlocal

Does anyone have a source that has a better confirmation of the number in attendance?

I'm curious because this is in the area I grew up in.

18. How many fit in that arena?

After it became apparent the crowd would not fill the pavilion, venue staff packed up about 50 of the folding chairs.

20. The Oregonian reporter there was noting that they were pulling out
hundreds of chairs from the floor that were empty so that it wouldn't "look" empty for the TV shots. :eyes:

15. The article says the Clinton camp ESTIMATED the crowd at 1000, not that they EXPECTED 1000.

Nothing at your link backs up your statement, your thread title, your claim.

The whole premise of this thread is false.

16. The reporter stated that 550 showed up...Admitedly, he doesn't say how he derived
that figure. (tickets, turnstiles, police estimates) A reporter attaches his byline to a figure, and the Clinton Campaign nearly doubles it. They seem to have tailored their estimate to fit their expectation.
