With Democrats like Hillary, who needs Republicans?
Blasphemy I know, but this primary has, for the first time ever, left me totally confused about the identity of my party. The Clintons already pulled us right once, now Hillary's campaign has so blurred the lines between us and them, that I'm seriously considering going solo (independent). If corporate owned, race baiting, hawks, are the future of the democratic party, I'm out.

7. Anger and dissolusionment are regressive
They poison a persons integrity and open them up to be controlled and influenced by those who would control them.

20. Kitty, I think that is what we are doing by supporting Obama. It is the direction Obama wants to go
progressive. He really has been remarkably steady in staying on point and ignoring the negative. He has only fought back when he absolutely has to - like the Wright issue. With Hillary's recent racial innuendus he has ignored her, which is the perfect response. He wants to take the dem party back where it belongs & I am on board with that.

29. I agree - which is why I will continue that charge if
he isn't nominated or elected. If he isn't nominated, it will be at the decision of the Superdelegates overriding the states and pledged delegates. That's a clear enough signal to me that we, the citizens and democrats, don't matter to them.

3. it's voting records that count
They're both the same, if anything Obama is to the right of Hillary on a few things - energy, tort reform, school vouchers, healthcare.

5. I agree they vote the same.
This election has been a personality contest. I like Hillary better but Obama is fine. I am ok with either of them.

4. you're not alone with that sentiment...I've said "Hillary is a Republican" so many times here...
..it annoyed some folks but - well, it certainly SEEMS that way considering how she's run her campaign and WHO she gets so much money from and who her biggest alliances are with.

6. Hillary's positions are almost exactly those of Obama on every issue
Hate is the hallmark of republicans. Trying to see racism in everything is in itself racist.

Look in the mirror

8. And her tactics are almost exactly those of Rove, Ailes, and Atwater
Their voting records may be similar, but she's 180 from left.

10. Rove had his candidate hover 'above the fray' ...
...while the candidates supporters smeared the opponent. Does this sound familiar?

http://dir.salon.com/story/news/feature/2004/08/28/moore_rove_swift_boat/index.html">Smear artist

The Hillary that Obama supporters have created is largely a fallacy of their own construction, the exaggerated product of an ongoing smear campaign.

Hillary Talks like a republican and Obama's supporters hate and smear like republicans.

Either way, we are stuck with a republican.

25. that's just your POV
I have found Obama's rhetoric and campaign to be divisive, myself.

An Obama supporter (if , indeed, our OP really is that) calling HRC a Republican does not really lend itself to a "unity" message.

Aren't y'all long overdue to go after McCain instead of still bashing Hillary? I mean, really. Did you know McCain said Obama hated rural poor people this weekend? Oh, that's right. He's not the enemy. Hillary Clinton supporters are, right? Fuck off.

32. Unfortunately, you'll find that most of hers and Obamas policies are damn close in substance
to one another.

The main differences are rhetorical style and campaign strategies and tactics.
