8. Yes, it's called a coalition. Ever hear of one? See them all the time in real world politics.
But maybe in the Obamiverse all of Hillary's millions of supporters are imaginary.

Rangel's a smart politician.

15. Considering that his last big legislative effort was to instate the draft
...which has the dual effect of failing miserably and painting the Democrats as pro-getting-people's-kids-killed, I would say that I disagree with your assessment of Rangel as a "smart politican".

5. Rangel is from New York and from the old school......
His point of reference is slightly skewed by power and politics, is all.

Rangel can rationalize anything in his mind, considering that Bill Clinton is a very close friend. His wife supports Obama, so that says a lot.

Rangel is a good guy, but certainly, he is not perfect. This just happens to be one topic on which he is totally wrong, and underestimates the power of Obama, not as a person of color, but as a person of a different generation, period.

Remember that older generations think that things don't change as much as they do. In that respect, he has a little bit of Wright in him, in thinking that difference of melanin matter as much as they did when he came up.

9. Why is he doing it then?
How am I supposed to respect him if he throws his principles or his constituents under the bus for some sort of personal gain?

11. He's talking about winning the GE, not personal gain.
And if you think most politicians aren't aware that a unity ticket would be most likely to win in November, then you forgot all the elections where the VP was the presidential nominee's opponent during the primaries.

14. They think that WE think like politicians..
There are SOME things that cannot be "erased", by saying "sorry"..

ask any person who has heard that from a cheating spouse...

or a grown child who has heard that from an abusive parent..

or a judge, just before he/she pronounces sentence

or a cop who catches you going 90 in a 55 zone
