I hate this primary...
I won't go into how I think that my candidate was better than the two still in the race but I've got to say I'm disappointed and disgusted with this year's Democratic primary.

First we were presented with the biggest campaign gift, a sitting president with the lowest approval rating in history. It was going to be a cake walk remember? Then the MSM stepped in. They decided that a horse race between a black candidate and a woman candidate would get the most viewers and started making it so. Kucinich, Biden, Richardson and especially John Edwards got zero coverage while every news outlet hyped Clinton/Obama to the LIVs (Less Informed Voters). The media (and by default the GOP) eventually got the candidates they wanted.

Of course the MSM wasn't happy with getting their hand picked candidates so they had to animate them and get them to start fighting each other. I mean a campaign of issues doesn't get viewers, it's the mud-slinging that makes news ratings rise. Out came the questions about Reverend Wright, the Clinton's tax returns, William Ayers and other bullshit issues to keep the viewers entertained. Both candidates fell for it to one extent or another while the GOP sat smirking as their candidate skated merrily along with no scrutiny. All the LIVs heard were the negative things that the Dem candidates were throwing at each other. The MSM was loving it.

Finally we seemed to have one candidate and could finally start spending money and showing the LIVs the truth about McCain but no. We're still hurting each other instead of the GOP who we should be fighting. In fact we have Democrats still giving the GOP talking points about both candidates and that is what the LIVs are hearing. All the while McCain keeps getting no scrutiny whatsoever on TV.

This is sick folks. I don't want to see us become the "Democrat" party. We have a chance here for a historic victory and a chance to put this country back on track. Please don't let us fuck this up. I've been a Democrat since I cast my first vote for McGovern. Never in my lifetime have we had this opportunity. People are disgusted with 8 yrs of GOP control. We need to pounce upon this chance of a lifetime instead of each other.

Rant Off and thanks for listening.

1. echoing that sentiment
too dpwn and too dirty and too divise - all parties involved are guilty of this to some degree.

Might as well say it for the zillionth time - better heal and unite at lease somewhat before the DNC convenes.

3. Especially now...
when it could be going to winning the presidency and a larger majority in both houses of Congress.
