Just voted in the NEBRASKA PRIMARY! Huskers check in here...
Edited on Tue May-13-08 02:12 PM by ReverendDeuce
Just voted in the Nebraska Primary! Fulfilled my civic duty! Voted for "you know who" (aka prominent Democratic senator)... :D

I was pleased to see that Nebraska has Mike Gravel on the Democratic ballot! Even though I did not vote for him, I am pleased that he is still in this thing. I also saw on the Republican ballots that Ron Paul is still listed. Way to go, gents!

9. It's a non-binding *beauty contest* primary
kinda like Washington state's. But I thought it was just for Repubs but obviously not.

14. Strange. Minnesota had a caucus in Super Tuesday
that included a "Presidential Preference." (I am not even sure whether it binds the delegates).

Than there is a primary in September, after the national conventions for all other offices. Mostly a rubber stamp since the ones who do not get their party endorsements usually drop out.

To just hold any elections for "beauty contest" is a waster of tax money, in my opinion..

5. So what happens today?
The caucus was back in February, are there more delegates from this primary? This is very confusing.

10. I voted today too.
This is the primary and yes we did also have a democratic caucus too. I have no idea why we had to do both but my husband and I did our duty...

7. Nebraska had its FIRST caucus on Feb 9, and its primary on May 13th...
Edited on Tue May-13-08 02:16 PM by ReverendDeuce
The Democrats had their FIRST EVER Nebraska caucus on Feb 9th, but today is the date for the closed primary... This is apparently an "advisory only" primary. Not sure what it all means. The point is, I voted! :D

Local coverage can be seen at any one of our local news stations or our local newspaper (which is a right-wing rag, but it still covers it):

Edited on Tue May-13-08 02:23 PM by DrDan
I live in Florida and obviously cannot vote in Nebr . . . well actually, my vote in Florida was as valid as my non-vote in Nebr.

But as a Husker fan - thought I would check in anyway.

GBR!

12. Ex-Husker living in the Badger State
I'm a native Nebraskan, and I voted for Obama up here. He should win out over H-Clinton in Nebraska.

Go Huskers, and Go Obama - let's post big victories in November!

15. Michigan and Florida take note.

A number of states apparently CAN manage more than one election a year.
