If she really had any news to begin with, this would be more exciting.

3. They have a political machine.
It's not "hope and change". It's a tightly-run campaign, and the Edwards and NARAL announcements seem very concerted to me.

They are clearly pulling strings behind the scenes. Obama is VERY POLITICAL. I don't necessarily mean that as an insult, but I do think his supporters need to understand that it's NOT a new kind of politics.

9. No one said that Obama was going to re-invent the whole thing!
He's just getting rid of the bullshit that doesn't serve us.

Winning elections without denegrating your opponent is the right kind of politics.

13. The old politics
that people refer to is not being organized and disciplined. That's just business and good business. Old politics is using underhanded tactics like dog-whistle racism, smear campaigns, turning tangential issues into "crises," etc.

18. you are absolutely right.
At this level of politics tactical chops are vital. Obama is indeed very political and he has a fighter's instincts. I've never thought for a moment that he's some new type of politician, only that he's a damned good one. And that bodes extremely well for November, wouldn't you agree?

Oh, also want to say that I have no doubt that he's had JE on tap for at least a week and that he really does have enough SDs to put him over the top. He knows how to do this.

19. "Very political" well of course...
he's running for President and you don't get to be president without being "very political"...that's the way the system works.

26. Two distinctly "new" about Obama's campaign: 1) takes the high road, 2) turns attacks back on source
This is why he's prevailed and will win in Nov. IMHO.

27. They all have machines.
All of them.

I NEVER thought Obama didn't have a political machine. He came out of the frigging ward politics of Chicago for crying out loud. That shit'll eat you alive.

7. He must have thought hard about when to endorse.
He knew Hillary would win in WV. You are correct about his endorsement stealing her thunder. On to Kentucky and Oregon!~

21. Superior Strategy trumps Superior Force in the long run
Hillary came in with all guns blazing in a mad dash to the nomination.
But she had no stamina, no plan of attack beyond the 3rd round.

Hillary is a Brawler.
Obama is a Pugilist.
