Dems came VERY close in 2004 after having the election stolen in 2000 and that was with 2 less than charismatic candidates and the issues not clearly in our favor.

With Obama at the top of the ticket and some reasonable balance to the ticket with his VP choice, how does McCain counter? He's an old has-been white guy with no charisma. He's a guy so completely tied in with lobbyists and "the way Washington works--or doesn't work" that it should be a very encouraging year.

Not only that, the excitement around Obama as a new face of America and as a terrific representative of our interests will stoke the voters for down ticket Democrats as well. Let us all work together to ensure the reality of what at this moment is still just our

hope

5. You think he has no charisma? That's not how the media portrays him.
He's called "the maverick" who gives you "straight talk", in his wry, understated manner.

And Obama has enough vulnerabilities which McCain could exploit in different ways.

We've got to be realistic. Believing this is going to be a near-slam dunk could easily lead to defeat in the fall.

7. what the media says and how he connects with people are 2 differnt things
in fact, I'm glad you brought up the media. upon scrutiny..this whole "straight talk" and "maverick" thing is largely a media creation as they sift data to find facts supporting that brand and rejecting those that don't.

I'm not cocky. After 2 straight heart breaking losses with 4 years of FUCKTARD BUSH as the prize, I believe I'm still concerned that all do what they can to make it so.

But McCain charismatic!? Try listening to a whole speech of his. I dare you.

P.S. It's not a good sign when your own base hates you.

11. You do know, don't you, that the polls were right, and KERRY WON.
Only massive fraud kept him out of office. There was MORE electoral fraud in 04 than in 02 or 00 - and again, more in 06, than in 04. We can expect even more in 08. But as in 06, what they do will not be enough to stop Obama.

12. McCain't doesn't have a base other than the press.........
and we will organize accordingly.

We need to let McCain't know that he is the next Bob Dole, who also was a wounded war hero.
