Why doesn't Obama get more credit for winning votes from affluent and upper-middle class whites? |
|
Edited on Thu May-15-08 07:21 AM by bluestateguy
All we hear about is his "white-working class problem". OK, it's a problem, and he needs to work on it. But why are these same know it all's in the bobblehead media not giving Obama any credit for winning votes from affluent and upper income whites. For example, in Hamilton County, Indiana, Obama won 61% of the vote; 56% in Williamson County, Texas; 55% in Marin County, California; 69% in Cobb County, Georgia, and 52% in Fairfield County, Connecticut.
Has anyone speculated that just maybe Obama will outperform John Kerry and Al Gore in November among the well to do whites?

1. Because the MSM won't give anyone credit? |

Because the MSM wants him to lose? Because if it's a horse race, they make more in ad dollars? Because the MSM is nothing more than propaganda?

2. I'd like to know what they call the white, middle class people in |

Vermont (who, incidently, work hard, too). They overwhelmingly support Obama. Maine, too. And Iowa. Maybe Hillary has a white upper class problem.

5. It's a euphemism for "common folk" |
|
"Regular folk." When wealthy people vote for Republicans, it's a sign that the successful recognize another success.
Working class used to mean people who worked in the manufacturing sector for the most part, but those jobs are gone, so it must mean "lower income" but they don't want to say that because it would mean admitting that all the good jobs were replaced with crappy service-sector jobs.

much better to play the race card in MSM. Never know, it might lead to an excuse for some more pastorbating.

13. Maybe one of the reasons is found in the Dewayne Wickham's |
|
comment: "Of the 29 primaries since New Hampshire from which delegates have been allocated, Obama has won 15. But in doing so, he got a majority of the white votes in just five of the 29 contests. And while winning three of the eight primaries held since March 4, Obama won a majority of the white vote in only one — Vermont." If I read Wickham's math right, Obama won white people in only 6 out of 37 states?
