Now is the time to unite the party and let go of the hate |
|
Now is the time for everyone to unite under one banner and defeat John McCain in the general election. With all the new voters that Obama and Clinton brought into the party there is no reason why we should lose. I think Hillary Clinton should drop out graciously but I also think that the bad feelings from Obama supporters should subside. When you think about it for a primary it wasn't all that bad (I know the media interjected race as they always do) to rally against each other if we join together in the end. I think defending your candidate brings out a passion that wouldn't have otherwise been there. But now is the time to first bring the party together and then win in an unprecedented landslide. John Edwards or Hillary Clinton would both make a great Vice President. So lets give Hillary Clinton some time. I think that the media demonizing the Clintons for two decades makes her feel she needs to be a fighter so let her and her supporters fight with us not against us. Once again it is so much easier to be magnanimous when you win. Obama won people so let go of the hate. Many of the comments posted here look like they were written by Rush Low Low Low Limbaugh and Bill O'Rightwing.

I think Obama knows what he needs to do to unite the Party and broaden his base. Think of the very last scene in 'The Grapes of Wrath' (the book, not the movie), and reverse the roles.

For me the moral of that story is that the woman had to chose between what is right and what her vanity, pride and social norms dictated. I think she chose wisely. All I'm saying is that though it might be too much to expect for Obama to offer Hillary a meaningful and tangible olive branch, it might save the dying man. But then again, a man's got to do what a man's got to do.

I can hate any goddamn politician I want to

Your right to hate. But what makes you different from the far right?

7. NAFTA, CAFTA and the War on the Poor (Welfare "Reform") |

I thought I was electing a Democrat.
Those were and are despicable policy matters that continue to GRIEVOUSLY hurt people that I love.
If we elect someone and they decide to represent someone else?
treacherous conduct, eh
