Edwards's Endorsement of Obama Starts `Al Gore Watch'
May 15 (Bloomberg) -- John Edwards's endorsement yesterday of Barack Obama leaves former Vice President Al Gore as the major Democratic figure still on the sidelines in the party's presidential race.

Gore, 60, who won the Nobel Prize and built a constituency by championing the fight against climate change since losing the election to George W. Bush, has so far stayed out of the battle between Obama and Clinton.

``The Al Gore watch starts now,'' said Ken Goldstein, a political science professor at the University of Wisconsin in Madison.

9. There's no chance of that. Relations between Gore and Hillary
are not particularly warm. My bet is that Gore endorses Obama shortly after Oregon. It really is essentially over.

8. Carter's Endorsement Would Hurt Obama
hey, nothing against Carter personally - I think he's done a lot of admirable stuff. But, I would bet Carter is not seen too favorably by the people Obama is already having trouble winning to his side.

12. I'd be surprised if Gore endorses ANYONE prior to the convention.
Carter might, but if he were going to I think he would have already. Al won't. Period. Feel free to say "I told you so" if it turns out I'm wrong.

16. I would think Gore would wait until the convention
Carter too. Besides, it's over. There's no real reason for an endorsement now that the primaries are winding down with a clear winner. This would make for awesome theater during the convention though!
