As long as Hillary is cutting ads that talk about her strengths and doesn't bash Obama, I think this is a helpful thing. Lets face it, the last remaining states will feel pretty put upon if everyone in the country but them gets to have a real vote in the primaries for the first time in forever. I think Obama probably took a hit in WV for blowing it off, as folks there probably were offended that they didn't get to have a real contest.

So yeah, Barack has won. Hillary knows it - she backed off significantly. I see nothing wrong her. I only wish the last month or so went more like this. Yeah, Bill is still going off the reservation, but when is he not?

So lets happily let Hillary have her "I'm not gonna quit" moment, as long as she's doing it gracefully. She's clearly decided that finishing the race is important - this in effect is her exit strategy. Lets not bother getting bugged about Michigan and Florida - those really don't matter anymore as the race is over. While its not my first choice to have the race "continue", if this helps calm things down, I'm all for it. Obama should praise her at every stop he makes, and he should spend significant time in each state left (including Puerto Rico), while making it clear that he's already in GE mode.

2. the W.Va. exit polls pretty much showed that Barack got all the votes he was going to get...
he didn't insult enough voters to pick up even 2%...

and remember, mcbushfourmoreyears only polled 1% in his primary...

those mountaineers are unlikely to vote in any numbers for Barack...

5. I disagree. Had he campaigned there, he could have picked up at least 10 points on her if not more
Obama supporters were not motivated to come out in WV, while Clinton supporters looked at this as her last gasp. Others who were offended that Obama didn't show up were also motivated. So by showing up like it was a real primary, he woulda cut substantially into the lead.

Exactly! This Obama supporter here agrees...
Let's give the people of Montana the chance cast the last vote (and to actively participate) in this insane primaries season. :-)

Obama to stop, and any comparisons of Obama to McCain by the Clinton campaign to stop.

7. They already have...as of last week. Hillary is cutting ads now that...
only focus on her strengths. Her language makes it clear she knows she won't win. Bottom line, she'd decided on her exit strategy. For whatever reason it is important for her to finish the race. Fine, I'm OK with that.

11. I agree 100%
I think Obama is better off if this goes until June 3. I don't want there to be any question about legitimacy or short-circuiting the voters (even though I sure wish the Clintons had been so adamant about letting every state vote when the party rushed to crown Kerry in 2004).

... in defense not just of Obama, but of her nation, and her party, and of reason.

Hillary today:

"President Bush’s comparison of any Democrat to Nazi appeasers is both offensive and outrageous on the face of it, especially in light of his failures in foreign policy. This is the kind of statement that has no place in any presidential address and certainly to use an important moment like the 60th anniversary celebration of Israel to make a political point seems terribly misplaced. Unfortunately, this is what we’ve come to expect from President Bush.

“There is a very clear difference between Democrats and Republicans on foreign policy and that difference will be evident once we take back the White House."

Brava, Senator!!! Brava!

13. Hmm.
Fully agreeing with this, she's lost but there is no reason to kick her out of the sand box. Though I would appreciate more attacks instead of agreement with McCain from her.

14. she signaled this with her attack on Bush I think...
I really don't see any more "McCain is better than Obama" comments from her.
