The blind support of Hillary Clinton |
|
I haven't started many threads on here but tonight on a another forum I read something that just appalled me. Apparently it was from a Hillary supporter who claims to have known her since grammer school.
This is the gist of it:
Hillary isn't a quitter, she's known her since grade school and she is just a "strong" person who doesn't give up. (right).
She knows FULL WELL that she isn't going into the White House, at least not now but she is setting herself up politically for a leadership role (???) in the Senate, anticipating that the dems will win at least the Presidency and that because of all the nonsense Bill did, she has to BUILD A LEGACY. (I'm not kidding).
Then she goes on to say the campaign has been bad on both sides (!!) and both should regret what they've done (this one I'm totally slumped on, I cannot believe the restraint Obama has shown).
And also that she wouldn't "hurt the party" even if she goes all the way to convention, as long as Bill and Hillary are there basically to smack Obama on the back and say "atta boy".
When I confronted her about lies, she said "there are different LEVELS OF LIES. Hillary's Bosnia Lie was just like "Bill's Monica Lie". And therefore, OK. Everybody lies. Especially the Clinton's, and no one can say anything about their lies unless they are compared to other lies and anyway, it's all politics.
Okay folks. I'm aghast reading this kind of stuff. Everything she puts down to make excuses for her only underscores why I don't want her anywhere NEAR the White House.

she's just hoping most will forget what we actually witnessed. Maybe because she really does think we are stupid.

this on purpose when she knows full well she cannot win. I disagreed with her about setting herself up for leadership in the Senate, I actually think her seat might be in jeopardy after this - but just wow.

aren't hurting the party? Well I do. I've got tons of friends that are independents and also repubican, and I've been trying to convince them that WE are the party of decency and compassion and all the rest and here this disgraceful primary because of Hillary hasn't gone far to convince them!

17. Here's my problem with Senator Hillary Clinton. |
|
Edited on Fri May-16-08 02:00 AM by writes3000
She lies.
She freely, casually distorts the truth in incredibly self-serving ways.
And she rarely expresses remorse or a decent explanation for her distortions.
I love the fact that she's a strong woman and that she's fighting to become President. I think she's incredibly smart. But because I know she's so smart, it means her methods are purposeful. And it implies that she believes that most Americans won't catch on to what the real truth is.
I want to trust my President more than I do not trust her or him.
And that's where I have my problem with Hillary Clinton.
A fight at the convention disturbs me because I don't trust that she will act honorably. And I hate feeling that way.

21. I can deal with a lie - if - there's a reasonable explanation for it. |
|
I'm watching Hillary lie/distort at least once a week.
She has complete culpability for the position that Florida and Michigan find themselves in. And I fundamentally believe that the Obama campaign's stalling on this issue is in large part due to their belief that they cannot trust the Clinton campaign.
Hillary is claiming that she always said these elections should count.
That is a lie. A bold-faced, self serving lie.
I can not shrug it off. All politicians are not like this.

She knew full well what it meant.
And now she's acting as if she knew nothing about it. As if she's been against it the whole time.
That's a lie. It's inherently dishonest.
And yes, I'm saying that she seems to lie/distort alot. Too much for my tastes.

|
What are you basing your support on. Her campaign policies. She could be lying about those.
Her convictions? What if they're lies?
Example: I don't think Hillary Clinton honestly wants to obliterate Iran. I think she'll use diplomacy until she feels she has no other choice.
But right now? I'm not sure what to believe because I'm no longer sure where she stands. Where's the truth vs. the "all politicans lie" truth.

Hillary has a history of taking politically expedient positions, and then going back on them later claiming that she wasn't aware of the real impact of her positions. She is the worst kind of self-serving liar there is. In some ways she is worse than Bush.

|
And no one wants to feel like they aren't worthy, equal, qualified, deserving.
I think that's what's going on for many Clinton supporters and Obama supporters. Their self-worth is now tied into these campaigns.

13. Really? I get lots of answers on change. But I will admit |
|
that a lot of his support is because he is new, young, and exciting. People are fed up with the Bush's and the Clinton's. Hillary did herself no favors by acting like Queen Elizbeth and believing as she said "it'll be over by February 5th". How could she has misfired like that? She has been arrogant, and downright mean playing the race card. I think he has own incredible restraint.

Senator Clinton has been working her ass off-even before 2/5-for this nomination, if she thought it would be over, so what? Many people thought the same thing otherwise why would we have had SuperDuper Tuesday?

IF Senator Clinton, LIKE A LOT OF OTHER PEOPLE WHO MOVE THEIR STATE PRIMARIES TO SUPERDUPER TUESDAY, thought the race would be over, she was wrong.
She had to change her mindset. It happens. Now if you want to take issue with her saying she knew it would go past SuperDuper Tuesday when she did not, fine. But to claim she was the only person to think it was going to be done by then is disingenous.

Hillary supporters aren't sheeple. We have our eyes wide open and know who would make the best President. I'll never vote for someone I never even heard of 12 months ago, who's practically hid under his desk in the Senate - not fulfilling his current job in the least and not making actual decisions (120 PRESENT votes) He can cut out preaching too---what an absolute turnoff.
