When is this forum going to be renamed?
It should go back to General Discussion: Politics now that Democrats everywhere have overwhelmingly chosen Obama. The time for infighting should be over and now that we have a clear nominee.

that he doesn't want the squabbling dragging on until August and he's changing the forum when we have a presumptive nominee. We do. Its Barack Obama.

30. The person you are arguing with is irritating at times but right in this case
Presumptive nominee is a term reserved for someone who has the number of committed delegates necessary to win on the first ballot.

Obama is about 97-99% certain to be the presumptive nominee once the primaries are over. But he simply isn't there yet.

4. My guess would be that it will be renamed once the primaries are over.
Considering Obama hasn't been formally chosen, and Hillary hasn't dropped out, it's still the primaries.

7. There's no way Clinton can catch up.
No matter how much she wins in Kentucky. Obama's going to carry Oregon and the states have similar populations. Its over. She needs to find some dignity and admit defeat.

How exactly will Hillary Clinton win? Even if they seat all the delegates of Michigan and Florida Clinton still loses. There is NO way she can win.

29. I see a bunch of "Ignored"s...
I also see why this mess needs to end.

HRH HRC will not be the nominee.
If she successfully pulls off a coup, be prepared for a long, long four years of President McCain. The party will spiral into a civil war and the RePuke base will be re-energized because they can vote against Clinton.
However, all is well. HRH HRC will not be able to strong arm any of the committees into bowing to her will. She doesn't have enough friends willing to commit career suicide for her.

That said...

Skinner, et al needs to recognize the Obama will be the nominee. He needs to take a principled stand for once and put a certain psychotic contingent on notice. They can either support the nominee or they can get the hell out.

25. And you're wrong
Democrats everywhere haven't overwhelmingly chosen Obama. Not by a long shot.

In fact, if you count only votes among registered Democrats, Clinton's probably in the lead.

26. overwhelmingly for obama? BS...he has what 51% and HRC49%
and that is what you call overwhelmingly? explain to me why obama cannot win these last few states? Never have i seen as you call him the presumptive nominee lose states. Hell, that should tell you obama folks something. This man will not win in November. Do you obama folks honestly believe that obama is going to get a majority of hrc's supporters?

I will tell ya like it is. Why would supporters of HRC which knows she is the more qualified and experienced and the one with the aptitude to be president will all of a sudden decide to cast their lot with obama? Listen obama folks this is not about party and vote the party line, this is standing fast with one's belief that obama is not the best choice..

It's like a game of chess where you have checkmate in three moves. Sometimes your opponent won't see it, and you just have to play it out.

...and with Clinton still polling very well, "Democrats everywhere" have yet to speak with a single voice.
