The election of 2004 is a referendum on theocracy |
|
Edited on Sun Aug-08-04 07:29 AM by Walt Starr
and nobody is realizing that.
With the retirements on the supreme court that we know are coming, it's that simple. Christian Re-constructionists will end up ruling the Supreme Court and the Christian Re-constructionist version of sharia will rule this nation. On many ballots throughout the country, there will be several "yes" vote opportunities for theocracy, but on every ballot there is but a single "no" vote for theocracy. Those who choose theocracy will choose to vote for any candidate other than John Kerry.
Keep that in mind. A vote for Nader is a vote for theocracy and all of the nastiness that goes along with that abhorrent form of government.
For the GLBT folks out their mulling a Nader vote, let me remind you of where the term "fag" came from. Back in the good old days of theocracy, they would burn accused witches alive at the stake. The screams from the victim would really get the crowd going, but then, the screams would stop. In order to keep the crowd worked up, the executioners would go looking for some "fags" (bundles of sticks for fires). They would pick those unfortunate souls whom were suspected of being homosexual and throw them on the fire.
Think about that while you're in the voting booth.

1. Do not insult my faith by calling those Pharisees "Christian" |
|
There is nothing Christian about the "Christian" right in my view. They use my Lord and Saviour as a blunt weapon to hate people. Using Jesus to divide folks and belittle them and then try to hide under guise of "Christian Conservativism".
They last nation to run that sort of idea was Nazi Germany.
Amerika, Erwache!
The Right-Wing Dead-Wrong Pharisee Coalition in this country are no different then the money changers in the temple. They defile the holy place instead of lifting it up. Scripture warns us of false prophecy and there is plenty of it among the Sanhedrin of Phonies of the modern Christian "Right" (yes Mr. Falwell, Mr. Robinson, Mr. Reed, Mr. Bauer I AM TALKING ABOUT YOU!)
These folks grandstand and say "What Would Jesus Do?"
I wonder. Would Jesus hold up a sign saying "Death To Fags?"(Hello, Westboro Baptist Church.)
Would Jesus say that "Apartheid is an inherently Godly system"? (Mr. Falwell? Paging Mr. Falwell?)
Would Jesus leave a child behind? (Remember "Suffer the little children onto me")
Would Jesus have said "I can't heal you because you don't have major medical?"
Did Jesus say, "Blessed are the war-makers?" Remember, Judas took a Halliburton pay-off to help suppress the truth, too. :)

3. Oh, I'll vote for Kerry, but I think you are an alarmist on this. |
|
Sure, its entire possible that antigay discrimination laws could be repealed by a conservative supreme court, and state-level sodomy laws could be reinstated (with penaltys including the death penalty), but this doenst mean we would be in a theocracy...it would be just theocratic in reference to homosexuality.

It wouldn't just be theocratic in reference to homosexuality.
Last month, Bush appointed and the Senate confirmed (largely along party lines) an appointee to a District Court who once wrote that women should subordinate themselves to their husbands. Last fall, the Senate considered a resolution stating that the purpose of marriage was for the "bearing and raising of children." Alabama just passed a law, and an appeals court upheld a ban on sex toys.
My mother is Jewish, when she was growing up in the 1950's, she got beat up because it was obvious during the school's morning prayers to Jesus that she didn't believe that way. Think that George Bush wants a Constitutional Amendment for prayer in school and would stack the courts to permit it.
These initiatives are all religious in nature. While it may be extreme to say that we would return to burning homosexuals and "heretics" at the stake it is not alarmist to say that they could face severe discrimination. And it is not extreme to say that women's rights (not just abortion rights) would be endangered.

6. So we are turning the clock back to the 1950s? So? |
|
While discrimination would be bad for minoritys like gays and lesbians and maybe Jews, I doubt most Americans would consider this state of affairs a theocracy.

Google "Dominionism" and "Christian Reconstructionism", then come back and yawn.
