1. The Wiley and Excellent Boy Cat Named Ginger wishes he could vote in the primaries.
Alas, he doesn't have US citizenship. :(

12. Nah, Ginger's not a pedigreed cat at all.
We think his Papi was a feral black-and-white cat. His mom is my mother-in-law's blue-gray cat.

To illustrate the lack of pedigree, here's a photo of Ginger (top), his brother Barley (also beige) and his gray-and-white sister, Tabitha, when they were kittens. :)

21. Ahhh. That looks like my Ziggy's baby picture.
He was a Siamese mix. No pedigree either, but he was lovely too.

31. It was.
Sadly, he passed on to the great beyond in 2003.

However, with room at the inn I took in another homeless baby to help fill the void he left behind.

3. After careful consideration...
I, Bodhi the Best Dog, do advise and recommend that all dogs and the people they control support Senator Barack Obama. Look deeply into my eyes and believe me when I send you this message from Beyond.

17. Bernese Mountain Dogs have very good faces...
I can't remember anyone who didn't smile when they first saw The Big Dog. I think it's the 'eyebrows' and the symmetry of the facial markings.

A very 'put together' 40-something woman once stopped next to the car where Bodhi was greeting people through the open window.

She stopped, smiled, and asked him, "Who does your makeup?"

16. Bodhi is a beautiful dog! What kind is he?
Edited on Sun May-18-08 10:44 AM by bain_sidhe
because he looks a lot like our rescue Alfred T. Great, and we've been trying to figure out what kind of a dog he is. I always say "something houndish" when people ask.

Here are some pics of him:
http://www.webfaerie.com/galleries/kids/01-07/meetalfred.htm

Edited to add a pic here:

(Alfred has a new little sister, Morticia P. Tonks, but I haven't gotten any pics up yet. Neither one of them has taken sides in the primaries, though.)

Anyway, your Bodhi is beautiful. May he rest in peace.

19. Bernese Mountain Dog
or Berner Sennenhund.

One of the four breeds of Swiss Mountain Dogs. Bred as general purpose farm dogs in the Bernerse Oberland. Used often as cart dogs for chores managed by kids, so they're gentle tempered by nature.

There were actually two of them. The other one was Jack.

20. Thanks!
Thank you for answering. I'll look them up later. I think Alfred is smaller than a Bernese, but he's got big bones, as if they were meant for a bigger dog.

Anyway, the rescue group I adoped my two from is having a "reunion" today at a local dog park, and I've got to get my butt in gear so they can play with all their former foster siblings. I'm late already (although it's a "come and go" gathering). I shouldn't have come in here. I was just going to check my email, but... um...

4. We have a split in our house...
our Welsh Springer, who's 13 years old, decided to back Hillary, but our 6-year old Lab decided she was an Obama girl.

It's very tense. :P

23. We're a three-kitties-for-Obama household, but the bunny might be an independent.
I think he's leaning towards Bob Barr, actually...He doesn't like to talk politics, much (you know how rabbits are about such matters). As long as he doesn't vote for McCain, though, we're cool.

:toast:

He is the sweetest, most wonderful little boy and the joy of my life. He's dozing right next to me right now. He's a very happy little guy, even if he likes to pull that face when he poses for photos!

Life is very good for Junior! Now, I'm off to law school to try to make life better for the other animals- because unfortunately, he's so attached, that I think it's just him and me...
