So once the media had put in their required time showing concern for his health I've now begun seeing the speculation begin about how this incident was going to effect the race since Kennedy had endorsed Obama. To paraphrase "Oh, well now he probably won't be out there campaigning... does that hurt Obama?" etc...

What I'm not seeing much of yet is "a hugely prominent 70+ year old politician just kind of reminded the country of what the risks are when people get to that age... hey, how old is McCain again?"
Am I the only one who thinks that, if we're going to set aside our empathy and compassion and look at this in terms of a cynical analysis of its political impact, it's more of a problem for McCain than for anyone else, by a long shot? Does he really need people bluntly reminded that when we're dealing with this age group sudden dramatic turns for the worse in people's health aren't exactly uncommon... even among those with some of the best medical care in the country?
