The local paper announced free lattes, and everyone wanted to act now.

There was a Birkenstock giveaway.

No one really wanted to come, but in some sick, demented reverse-psychological cluster-f*ck, the white vote that Pat Buchanan said that Sen. Obama couldn't "get" wanted to prove him right, so they attended.

Ten Prius' were given away every 10 minutes.

10. It was one of the few sunny days we've had since last October.
People just headed outside to the park to get a little sun to replenish their vitamin D supplies and stave off rickets. Hey, who knew Barack was in town? That was just coincidence.

13. They thought the nude bicyclists and rolling bicycle protests were converging.
(That was for the PDX folks on DU)

By way of explanation, we have a group of folks who ride nude, and another group of folks (Critical Mass) who ride en masse, shutting down all the cars as they wind through the city.
