What Do These Polls Mean? |
|
Saw these on Morning Joe today (5-19-08):
Gallup Daily Tracking Poll:
Obama : 52 Clinton: 41
Clinton: 47 mccain: 46 Obama: 45 mccain: 46
Kentucky U. Kentucky Poll: Clinton: 51 Obama: 25
New Poll: Rural Voters Swing States: mccain: 50 Obama: 41
Clinton: 46 mccain: 46
Obama leads against Hillary, but Hillary beats Obama against mccain? What, if anything, do you read into this? Serious question here, not trying to start any shit.

1. Did you notice that the difference between Hillary beating McCain |
|
and Obama losing to him is within the MOE? There's virtually no difference. And the rolling average shows Obama up over McCain by 4.8. So, picking which polls you use is a little silly. No doubt that Hillary does considerably better among rural voters in swing states, but sorry, Obama does beat McCain in as many if not more recent polls than Hillary. And Obama is beating McCain in states like PA and NM. We still have two candidates and a fractious primary to finish it out. Look for things to change when it's our nominee against McCain. And change rapidly.

2. It means we don't have a nominee yet... |
|
...Clinton and Obama are in virtual ties with McCain as it has been for a long time. Either won will beat him as soon as it's a one-on-one battle.
