Regarding Clinton closing in on Obama in Oregon...
Do you recall that most pollsters said the same thing in North Carolina? Remember how Hillary was closing the gap in North Carolina, too? Some polls had NC within three-five points and Obama ended up winning by 17. Even Survey USA showed only a five point edge for Obama in NC and a 12-point edge for Hillary in Indiana--he ended up almost tying her there. Another point about Oregon--Obama has a big lead, apparently, among early voters--and he is still leading among those who haven't. In the end he will win, I believe a NC like victory. He will get a majority of the pledged delegates tomorrow night.

Also, it could be if they were polling yesterday that a lot of Obama supporters may not have been home. As I recall he drew about 75,000 of them in Portland.

1. I read somewhere else here that it didn't include people who'd already voted.
And that if you added that in, it was 58-30 Obama.

It means nothing.

2. She left Oregon EARLY for a reason. Her internal polls must not look good...

8. Doesn't Oregon have mail-in voting?
Does anybody know how that changes the voting patterns? I would have thought that most of the mail-ins would already be in the mail.

4. There was a local journalist from Oregon on MSNBC...
Edited on Mon May-19-08 10:45 AM by lisa58
...about an hour ago saying that he didn't hear about this new poll, but his paper polled with the best pollster in the state the week of May 10th and Obama was easily 20 points ahead and it would take a disaster for him to lose Oregon.

7. I can't see any reason for that type of Obama collapse
I'm sure the headlines today in Oregon are all about the big crowd Obama brought out yesterday.
