Obama was talking about the ads made by the Tenessee GOP. |

The same one who produced the very racist ads against Harold Ford.
Nice that that many Dems here are fine with ads from the GOP when they attack Obama. And, BTW, where are the ads attacking Chelsea Clinton that some here think they have seen, given that they compare Obama's remarks with some blogs criticism on Chelsea (most of which were wrong, but not produced by the Obama campaign).
Nice to see that some here agree with racists just because it is convenient for their candidate. I am sure that SHE WOULD DISAGREE!

shocking that Obama defended his wife.

of the TN GOP ads. Some people have really lost perspective.
Those weren't straw men - I think there are people defending the TN GOP ads against Michelle who I'm sure were outraged by the ad against Harold Ford.

13. That's a nice crutch you have there |
|
I wish I'd thought of that, just calling anyone who disagrees with me a "whiner". Is that how you speak truth to power? You just accuse authority figures of whining?

5. They are not fine and no one is suggesting this |
|
What many of use are saying is that this is going to get worse and Obama better grow some skin. Whining to the repuke slime machine because you don't like their ads just isn't going to cut it. look how long they have attacked Hillary.

8. He's doing what is called "counterattacking." It's been proven slightly more effective |

than the Kerry strategy of sitting silently while you get trashed.

10. I guess what I'm wondering is |

Are people who are defending these types of ads (and again, I think everyone knew that these attacks were coming. Since we are all commenting on an interview that has yet to air, I am assuming that GMA asked him a direct question about it. We all saw what happened when Obama tried to be honest and say that he could understand why some people would be worried about Wright, so that it was a "legitimate" issue. McCain jumped on it.Was he not supposed to defend his wife when asked directly about it?) are going to still be posting here that we are all whiners when we complain about the GE shit that is going to go on? Are they going to "whine" again and again "I told you so! I told you so! See? See? You thought it wasn't going to happen, didn't you?" Just because it fits in with their narrative about Obama's supporters' "naivete"? I really dislike the idea of a Hillary Clinton candidacy, but you better believe that I would be "whining away" about all the ridiculous stuff that the GOP would throw at her in the general election. Christ, Kevin James tried to pull the "Pathway to 9/11" card the other day, and nothing infuriates me more. Part of why I post on Democratic message boards is to vent and whine about the GOP, and I reserve that right. I will take issue if Obama does not properly defend himself, and he has impressed me thus far. Again, as someone else in another thread pointed out, it is not some new thing for politicians to use the "the opposition is morally deficient" defense against an attack, and that thinking is pretty consistent with the Tennessee GOP's past desperate tactics.
