My sad attempt @ photography with a palm treo (Obama @ Billings West High 5/19 - pictures)

I realized at 8:00am this morning that my wife had both cameras and camcorder in Denver with my older daughter, a musician who had weekend shows in Boulder and Denver. But they missed out on the real treat this week! My morning with my 14-yr-old and Barack Obama.

It was a great town hall meeting that many of you might have watched on CNN or streaming.

The crowd was fired up and enthusiastic as he made some critical points against McCain, his K Street connection, and his disillusionment over the state of the US Economy.

He also spent a few minutes shooting back at the McCain comments that Obama wanted to somehow coddle Iran. Obama spoke very directly about Iran's threat, how it became that threat from the failure in Iraq, and how through an initial attempt at stern diplomacy, saber rattling isn't a complete foreign policy.

The town hall time was split pretty evenly between health care and education.

I was at the railing where he exited the stage, so I assumed he was going to start right where I was, and move down the line. Instead, he just went right to the people behind him.

He's dead to me.

4. Eh, not bad. Your camera's a little cheap, but these photos are good

You know that pros throw away about 19 of every 20 pictures they shoot, right? One tip if you're trying to photograph far away scenes is draw your elbows into your chest so they're touching and lean back a little, it will give you more stability than if they are sticking out naturally.

I took some pictures at the Dallas Rally - and it is a hard job. With everyone screaming, etc. it's hard to concentrate. Plus you want to see Obama - and not through your camera! Thank you again!!

12. What sucked me into this thread, was that mention of "Palm Treo"!

I got mine (700p) 2 years ago, mainly because of my admiration for the Palm OS. I really LOVE it and have the Treo loaded with my favorite Palm OS programs, as well as eReader.com & Audible.com books. There's an application (http://www.junefabrics.com/palmnet/) that will allow me to "tether" it to my laptop, with a USB connector. (Bluetooth also, but I haven't tried it yet). I can do internet work with my Treo, but awkwardly and with some limitations, but this way there are NO limitations. When my 2 year contract is over in August, I'll probably renew it by getting a Centro. But I digress.

I'm a pretty recent convert to Obama, but now I can't get enough of him! Thanks for those photos!
