Who does she think she's fooling? Clinton's magical Southern accent.

Perfect diction, full use of gerunds in Pennsylvania;
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=co-BmVFQ2Vw

Then, in Kentucky, she suddenly can't pronounce 'ing', and now she's 'gonna' and 'gotta';
http://player.clipsyndicate.com/view/3561/601726?cpt=8&wpid=

She goes back and forth between "I wanna", "Ya' Heard" "Thank you all fer commin'" and slipping back into proper English.

Listen to PA first, then KY... does she think people are stupid?

Now, BOTD; when I spend more than a week somewhere people speak with an accent, I start to unconsciously pick it up... most people do, but this just seems, well phony.

It just kills me that people that call Obama 'phony' can't see this.

{OE} - How does one go about embedding video?

1. She is/says whatever she needs to be/say to get elected
That would have been her strength 10 years ago. Now people are sick of being pandered to by blatantly fake politicians.

Of course being yourself has it's limitations...Bush got elected by just being himself...a f***ing dry-drunk idiot. It's a shame that most folks didn't realze his blood is so blue he shits eggplants...

2. I once met a guy through a friend who had an English accent
and a detailed story about how he moved to the States when he was 10. I found out a few years later that he had faked the whole thing, he was from Kansas.

I assume that's how Hillary does it too. Talent.

5. But it's not a very good accent... she just changes her inflection,
uses more contractions, and tries to sound more like 'one o' them'. It's pretty transparent.

However, I'd say crying on cue takes talent, or an onion.

10. Obama changes his speaking characteristics for his audience, as well.
Let me point out one other thing about the beguiling Southern accent. Once you gain that accent, even if you move away, if you get around Southerners it comes right back. Remember that Hillary lived many years in Arkansas.

I've been in Oregon 15 years. When I first moved here, people instantly recognized my accent. Now it's almost gone. But get me on the phone with someone back home in Virginia or Tennessee, and within 1 minute all my accent comes back. There's just something about a Southern accent that comes naturally. To this day, I cannot say "you" to a group of people, it's always "y'all." And I still say "howdy" (but I think that's from my years in Texas and don't get me started on their accent!)

When in Rome, do as the Romans do. People love to talk with a Southern accent. You can find more important things to criticize about a person, can't you?

12. Did you miss the BOTD part?
There are far more 'important things' to criticise her for, but then I'd be accused of 'hatred' and 'sexism'.

The difference is very stark, if you listen to the videos, you can see that she's putting a great deal more conscious effort into her 'southern' than if it were 'just natural'.

I'm not saying it's wrong of her, it just seems phony. Now, if you can get me video of Obama doing the same thing, I'll say the same about him.

Fair?

13. You said a week.
I don't know your history, but as I mentioned, if you've lived in the South, you'll slip back into it very, very quickly.

You can find the video of Obama talking about not feeding cold Popeye's chicken to kids in the morning. He definitely slips into the vernacular and speaking style of his audience. Notice how with some audiences his speech is filled with "gonna" and soft "ing" endings, whereas with other audiences he drops that style.

I for one have never accused any Obama supporter of being sexist. As for hatred, there's plenty of that to go around, and I do believe that Hillary has received the brunt of it. That will soon change when we have a winner of this King of the Hill primary.

Sorry, my internet connection is too slow to go through videos of Obama. And, honestly, I don't want to listen to him over and over. :)

15. Or she could have an "ear" like I do.
I unconsciously mimic the accents around me. When I lived in Australia for a year, within two weeks, no one could tell the difference. I spent a week with a group of Scottish tourists and I began to sound just like them. I don't why it happens, but it comes naturally to me and I know of a few others that are like that. We're not doing it on purpose we just pick up the phrasing and accent. It certainly facilitates communication for me.
