Poll question: Will Kerry Visit CA before Nov?
Edited on Mon Aug-09-04 04:31 PM by Jack_Dawson
I love being taken for granted. I love how shitkicker states like IOWA get 50 times the visits CALIFORNIA does. It ALMOST makes me want to vote Republican...

1. I hope he doesnt unless he slips in the polls. Right now, he's 11pts ahead
in California. I'd rather he spent the time in swing states.

2. Ahww
Well, I live in Montana and I hope he doesn't come here because I'd rather he win the election than make me feel good.

3. Does it make sense for him to visit there when he leads
by a dozen points yet is tied or trailing in other states where his visit might make a difference?

I understand the frustration - I used to live in Texas and didn't get much Clinton and Gore traffic as it was a lost cause - but they have to use their limited time, money, and energy where it is most needed.

4. I guess...it just seems like a fucked up way of doing things
but that's our electoral college in action, I guess...

5. He will come to California because there's money to be had
Our state is a great place to whet one's beak for the long journey through the swing states.

He'll be back for a DNC rally or two and a star studded evening.

Hope you have $25,000 to get a ticket!

6. He can't raise any more money. I don't think he will come
he is taking the federal funds for the rest of the campaign and can't raise any more on his own.

I wish he would come here...pout.

11. Can't he do a driveby or go to a gala to praise him
which is hosted by the DNC to raise money for the Committee, not for his own candidacy directly?

He's still sending e-mails asking for contributions to the DNC.

My guess is that we will see him at least once more in California.

What we have to figure out how to do is how can we keep Arnold from going to the RNConvention. We should have the power to stop him.

Hmmmmm...

Don't blink: Bush, Kerry visiting California this week

BETH FOUHY
Associated Press

SACRAMENTO - Pssst - did you hear the latest? President Bush and John Kerry are coming to California. Really. They are.

Both men will actually take a day or two this week away from the so-called battleground states and campaign in California - home to 36 million people, roughly one in seven Americans.

The two could cross paths in the Los Angeles area at the end of the week - Bush coming in for a fund raiser in Santa Monica, and Kerry for a stop on his "Believe in America" cross country tour.

But given the persistent political realities of the state - the latest Field Poll, released Thursday, showed Kerry maintaining a double-digit lead over Bush - don't expect many more visits or advertising dollars to be squandered here in the final months of the campaign. At this point, tiny New Hampshire will see more of both candidates, in person and in television ads, than will California.

8. After he won the election before inauguration, Clinton visited CA to thank
us for our support. He stopped at the local mall and I got to shake hands with him. I don't remember if he campaigned here or not.
