She was clearly shaken up in her speech today. Could it be Obama already said no
to her request for VP? And maybe that is the reason why she is now adamant about going to the convention?

Seriously, her eyes looked red and watery...like she had been crying or was about to cry.

Notice, her family looking on with nervous concern.

37. Going to introduce a concept here, and please don't yell.....
Could she have mania related to diet pills or uppers?

Candidates take drugs to get through the election process. Hillary's wide-eyed "just-been-goosed" stare is, IMO, evidence of this.

Do you think she has gone manic because of overindulgence in speed?

Her grandiose ideations, not in touch with what is really possible, bizarre statements, personality changes...

Let me just say that I grew up in the 50s and 60s. After WWII, during which many women had held important jobs, the jobs were suddenly needed for returning GIs. Women used meds to keep them placated.

In our neighborhood, you could always tell who was on diet pills because they would scrub the outside of their house once a week or so.

So do you think that Hillary is really insane now, possibly related to extended use of uppers of some kind?

39. Amazon, you're partly right
Today's pills -such as Provigil and Stratera- are different and very much doctor prescribed but they will wear a person out. I don't think they can make you crazy. But the trial of taking a pill to slip and a couple of pills to keep will affect one's temperament and judgment.

I noticed Hillary is 'losing it' lately too. It must be hard to be 58 or 59 (?) and going trough the grueling schedule.

And they have every right to be exhausted for fighting a good fight. I do wish she would concede and get back to her Senate duties, but she has earned the right to continue on as long as her rhetoric is not damaging to the party and Obama.

22. I think she's tired too and that her rhetoric is damaging
I don't like the critiques of tired photos or film. She looks good for campaigning so hard. But the campaign tactics she and her team have used have already tarnished the Democratic party's "big tent" image.

6. I think it's just that there is no one
in a position to say, "Hillary, it's over. Go home." Everyone needs someone in their life like that -- all the more when you're in a race like this. There has to be one person who can grab your arm and say "OK -- no" like when you're looking at the Spandex bike suit, while you're on your way to a Weight Watchers meeting.

10. And that's what scares me about Bill
It's as if he's on a quest too -- and that makes me suspicious that he sees this as a chance to get a third term.

And it's also why Obama shouldn't even think about naming Hillary as VP. He's only have Hillary and Bill sitting in the VP's office plotting against him -- on his dime.

When I saw the video, I thought that her eyes looked really odd. She looked odd... I can't really describe it, but almost like she was on autopilot. Charging ahead at full speed, terrified but committed to keep going anyway.

I know that probably sounds melodramatic, but that's what I thought... even before seeing this thread.
I said this in another post, but I'll say it again... the woman needs an intervention. For the love of humanity, there must be someone who cares enough about her to bring her back to reality. She is doing things now that she'll be paying for for the rest of her life. Why won't anyone step up and do what needs to be done????

61. I wonder if she realizes the spectacle she is making of herself.
I hope someday the Clintons realize their demise was self-inflicted.

63. Sadly, I doubt they ever will.
They are infallible in their own minds.

54. I think that he has not only told her no, but I think she knows who
his running mate is going to be. That is why she is obsessively trying to prove that she can win white working class voters.

68. Firstly, If she asked now Obama has every right to say I am not ready
to make a choice here, and got through all candidates.

I think that is what happened which is why she is going to try and force this at the convention.

And that would really hurt Hillary.

I don't see evidence of tears myself. Insanity maybe but no tears.

73. If my husband
acted like Bill, and told the american public "hey, I agree, my wife is a loser. But if you want a woman, how about my daughter - and remember, I will be there too", I'd be a bit teary. Instead of saying, I will be at her side in 2016 (and she'd still be younger than McCain), again, Bill Clinton has tossed the old lady over for a younger version. Her own daughter (who compared to momma, has zero political talent or ambition).

It was as disgusting a thing to say as his Monica crap was to watch.

92. Oops, didn't mean to mislead - it is what I feel he implied
by offering someone as clearly unqualified at this point in time as his daughter Chelsea as a candidate for 2016. Why not say Hillary will make an awesome candidate in 2016 - maybe this just wasn't the moment, and we can't wait for her to run again? What does it say about his thoughts on his wife's abilities, if he figures a kid with absolutely nothing to offer but a name could be enough of a possibility for him to mention it out loud to reporters? Esp. while his wife is still technically running and having to make a hard decision about exiting this race, this is simply unforgivable. To me, it implies that he feels his wife is a loser now, and he is thinking ahead to the next possibility to latch himself onto - his kid. Support for his wife the candidate doesn't include mentioning that the next Clinton to run in 2016 should be Chelsea, not Hillary. If you think your wife is a talented winner, how come you say IN PUBLIC that the likely next one would be the younger, completely unqualified version?

Any references to Chelsea running for Pres at ANY time shouldn't be made at such a tough time for his wife. Let me be clear - I don't like Hillary, I think really bad things about her lack of character and abilities - watching her has made me anti-Hillary, in fact. But damn, a husband making this kind of comment when his wife is having a downslide moment like this? Giving up a run at the presidency? Something you already got to do, and apparently Bill hasn't the sensitivity to understand what she is going through in a public forum no less? This is probably the only thing that has happened to this woman since Monica that actually makes me feel bad for her. Even knowing it is completely her fault for sticking with him - if she is qualified to run for president on her own merits, she should have ditched Bill years ago, and made a complete independent name for herself.

He is an unmitigated dickhead, and on second thought, I wouldn't be teary. I'd be angry beyond measure, and no matter how wierd their home situation is behind the scenes, just for this "unity" moment, I hope she is giving him hell on this.

84. You'd think we were on Free Republic - listening to people commenting on Hillary/Chelsea's looks...
It's bad enough to be picking apart women's appearances - but then to demean them - truely sickening.

Whoever said that there's very little difference between the far right and the far left was telling the truth.
