What is wrong with any Dem candidate saying that the war in Iraq was |
|
wrong and that the loss of our children and loved ones was not worth it? What is wrong with saying that this President made a major mistake and we can not make ourselves the policement of the world unless we police the entire world?

Regardless of what they may MEAN when they say it, that's how the Republican noise machine will portray it, and that won't sell well to swing voters. That's why.
Next question?

2. Also Kerry wants to bring htem home and help their families |
|
Would Bush propose a Military Family Bill of Rights, Kerry is, and Kerry wants to bring them home within four years and reduce their presence in Iraq. Its not perfect but it will do.

6. Kerry was called a flip flopper on DU during the primary campaign |
|
anytime he said something to be critical of Bush on Iraq there were some on du who would jump him and call him a flip flopper or trying to have it both ways and say "so why did he vote for the war then".
Kerry voted for the Afganistan thing also and he was critical of Bush on that. and Bush has done a horrible job in afghanistan. the fact that Kerry voted to give power in dealing with terrorism there does not mean he isn't allowed to criticize how bush went about it.
issues of war ARE complex and require similar thinking.

7. shades of gray not black and white |
|
Yep I see your point perfectly. Honestly, I am getting more upset by this by the day, you wont see me explode on someone but it just sickens me that anyone would think that Kerry is like Bush, hell hes more like Kennedy than Bush, maybe he doesnt have the rhetoric they want but he and Kennedy share virtually identical records, yet you know what, many of Kerry's detractors like Kennedy, even though Kerry has the slight edge on record being more liberal, love Kennedy but Kerry edges him. Kerry said in his convention speech, some see things in black and white but I see things in shades of gray. Its just sad that we have to defend Kerry in August I think, as we gain new voters from the Indys and Repubs day by the day I hear the stories of a indy or repub voter saying I am going Kerry. Yet the purity of some continues. I really dont wanna get upset, but damnit, its just not fair that Kerry gets all this flack.

3. The war is a lose lose issue for Kerry |
|
if he says it was a mistake, it makes him look indecisive and a poor decision maker
if he stays with Bush, it makes him more hated by his base. However, at least it becomes a non-issue and makes it easier to swing repukes and indies.
Even though Kerry said it, let's hope he didn't mean it.
