About the Kerry "non-bounce" -
Didn't Kerry mention long ago that it's a marathon, not a sprint?

Unfortunately (for Bush, that is), Bush is now counting on a post-convention "bounce" to get him back in contention (in the polls) and to get back to head-to-head with Kerry.

4. It's a GOOD thing that * is delusional...
...less chance that he will feel the need to cheat, steal votes, "suppress the Detroit vote", etc.

5. I don't know about that - he's lied, stolen, and cheated all his life.
why will he stop now. If the Chimp is wounded, I'd treat him like a wounded cobra.
He can still suprise you.

6. Back in contention ?
It's a dead heat, within the margin of error.

9. Not a "dead heat". Kerry is ahead by 6-7 on most polls.
MOE is usually around 3.

It's too close for me to feel serenely confident, but * is definitely losing. Or isn't that what you wanted to hear?

16. With a 3 point MOE
The Republican convention coming up and The Shrub in control of the news cycle that's not a significant lead

7. I've been working with the coordinated campaign
Edited on Wed Aug-11-04 12:50 PM by dmkinsey
here and our leadership explained that the national(Kerry) people wanted us to do a LOT of voter contact immediately after the convention to offset the EXPECTED absence of "bounce".
The problem with bounce is that there just aren't enough people to provide it. Most people have already made their choices and very few undecided remain, therefore no bounce.

8. The press will award bush a bounce
I will be shocked if they don't. Hopefully it will only serve to get more people out to vote.

10. Bush will get a bounce
The party faithful are just itching to come out and support their guy. What I'm really hoping is that the Wingers won't be able to resist going negative and it backfires on their asses. Besides which, they're really starting to sound like robots out there:"Kerryhasn'tdoneanythingassenatorflipflopperswiftboatvetsdontsupporthimhevotedagainstthe87billiongaveBushtherighttogotowarliberalliberalliberal" Over and over and over again.
