When is the soonest Obama could announce his VP pick?
It's become clear that we won't get any closure in this race until Obama picks his VP, and it's clear now it won't be Hillary. So my question is: assuming Hillary bows out on, say, June 10 after a huge superdelegate surge for Obama, how soon after that could he announce who his VP pick is? Would he have to wait until close to the convention or could he do it in late June? The sooner the better for allowing Hillary supporters to move on with their lives- until the pick, many of them will be agitating for her to get the nod.

3. He won't announce until August
That seems to be the usual time to announce a running mate.

It will be timed several weeks prior to the convention.

4. He should go ahead and offer it to Jim Webb
Webb might say no, but what the hell. Strike while the iron is so hot it's thixotropic.

6. He won't announce until the convention most likely, or just before
and the vetting process of candidates takes a while, too.
