Dumb and/or ugly as her comment was, DU's reaction is 100000 times worse.
We have a great candidate, probably the best in a generation or two or three. He is moving deftly and with determination to get beyond the partisan, and intra-partisan, bickering to some real solutions for the future of our nation and our planet. One would hope that his biggest challenge would be getting older, more conservative Americans to overcome their instinctive, jingoistic xenophobia and nationalism.

But no, the real challenge, now that we have an actual progressive, smart, determined candidate is that the fucking activists--who might be the ones we could count on to organize, motivate, move, do, get it done--are instead suddenly turned into a pack of insane chickens, pecking each other to pieces.

Even if one puts the most evil possible motivation on Hillary's comments, what purpose does it serve to amplify them by screaming about it nonstop for over 6 hours now? Don't you think Obama can win this nomination without a pack of rabid, frothing dogs running interference for him? In fact, what has been his strategy lately? Very wisely, he has been transitioning from the nomination battle, which is pretty much decided, to the general election. To put it bluntly, he has been pretty much ignoring Hillary. Which was pretty effective until today's dustup.

Now Obama's 'supporters' (with friends like these, who needs enemas?) have put Ms. Clinton front and center back in the focus. And, more important, have reminded people that along with each Democratic candidate, you also get a crowd of 10 million rabid guilt-mongering supporters.

To be honest, I think one of the biggest problems Obama will have in the general election is some of the folks here at DU, who will continue to fight like battle crazed huns every chance they get, and scare away the large majority that would be needed to beat the fucking electronic 'voting' machines.

I was thinking about what to post for my 1000th post, but now I'm not sure I'll make it that far.

Peace. If you remember what that's about.

11. she has served her country well, and you idiots have fantasized her into Satan..
I'm sure Hillary would say that unjust treatment from willfully ignorant assholes is just part of the territory, but for the sake of your own karma, you should beg her forgiveness.

Because in reality, most of the Democrats I know through my local party have never even heard of this website.

6. LOL, another one who thinks that DU has some sort of mystical, magical influence
All 130,000 of us:eyes:

Look, this place is fun and all, even a place to blow off steam at the candidates, which is what is happening now. However if you think that DU will have anything but a miniscule effect on the election, you've been spending too much time online.

Edited on Fri May-23-08 10:51 PM by TexasObserver
Your point is bogus, because DU is reacting the same as major media. Therefore, it's not some DU overreaching or due to DU's 90% preference for Obama.

Your comment is utter nonsense, with no basis in reality.

If I said "go fuck yourself, you pompous, insensitive asshole" would you take that in the best possible way?

Many African Americans don't believe for a minute that Obama will be allowed to live.

Every night, he is prayed for more than anyone in the history of this country.

Clinton just blew her last dog whistle.

I'm registering voters and praying to the god I don't believe in every day.

it brings back all of the pain, all of the anger, all of the disbelief, all of the mourning for our country and its future . . .

it just does . . .

26. I take exception.
Robert and John Kennedy were very important to me when I was growing up, and the thought of openly discussing on of their assassinations in a political way was, to say the least, disturbing.

No, I have refrained from attacking her for the most part until now because she is a smart, able Democrat that had potential. It's as if someone attacked John McCain for being FDR-like in his mobility, it's just plain wrong. This crossed a boundary. John and Robert are a part of America's identity, you simply do not bring it up.
