Regardless of the party of the protectee or his/her family, the overwhelming majority of them take their jobs VERY seriously. He's well protected, thank you.

Plus if I were one of his "handlers/support staff", I'd be sticking close by too--willing to take a "hot one" for him. I don't think this is a bizarre or singular mindset.

But what difference does that make anyway? Do you believe that white Secret Service agents are likely to do him harm while, on the other hand, black agents would provide him better protection?

Wow.

FYI - Barack Obama is not a stupid man. I'm sure that he is quite aware of his circumstances - certainly more than you or I - and HE seems very satisfied with the level and degree of protection that the Secret Service is providing him. I have no doubt that if he had any reason to believe that his security was likely to cause him harm, he would make other arrangements.

So, while your concern is surely heartfelt, it is probably unnecessary to warn Sen. Obama about something he certainly knows much more about than any of us.

13. you know, when I checked in to the event in Maitland, no one even

looked at my license to see who I was or verify anything. Yes, they made us walk through a metal detector and scanned our bags and wanded us, but no one really knew if it was really me or not. And, all we were given to identify ourselves was a yellow dot the size of a dime in order to get into the room. And, the hotel where he was there were people walking around all over without being scrutinized and who knew what could have been in those rooms. And, they actually let me hand him a personal item and note.

Oh, and my car was parked in the handicap parking place, about 20 feet from the entrance and maybe 300 feet from the event room and no one ever checked anything on it. There could have been a bomb and no one would have known.

Thinking back after today's remark, it seems pretty scary indeed that security was lax.....

I did hear one guy say they were a private security firm, though. And, a lady was dressed in a hotel maid uniform but didn't look like one with all her jewelry and makeup and she stood by the ladies room door and wore an earpiece so I know she was actually incognito Secret Service or FBI but still......
