Another Republican changes his allegiance |
|
I have one of those stories now too! You know, the one where a long-time Republican changes their allegiance?
I just spoke with my dad in Florida. He's 71, and has been a life-long Republican. He has always voted Republican. Always. We've had the political discussions in the past- nothing too heavy, because we're family and we know we disagree.
I brought up the fact that I'd received an invite to a Bush fundraiser yesterday, thinking he'd get a kick out of his Democratic daughter receiving such a thing. He said he's changing his allegiance this year. He will not vote for Bush. He is voting for Kerry!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yippee.
I cannot express how thrilled I am. B-)

8. And that's the difference this year. The bases are NOT shored up. |
|
There are a lot of Republicans who have decided that while they may not like John Kerry, it would be better to have a Democrat in the White House than to have Bush destroy what credibility the Republican party has left. There are many Republicans jumping ship and casting (what in their eyes is) a Lesser Of Two Evils vote.
On the other hand, how many Democrats* do you know that are jumping ship and voting for Bush?

The two medals in the medal are Korean War medals.
Proving once again that Dubya is dumber than we think, even when we're joking about him.

Now he will not have to spend eternity in hell with all those republicraps.
I am happy for you, I have been trying to get through to my mother. She is so closed minded because my father (now deceased) was also a life-long republicrap. Not much luck so far though.

11. I may have another Florida convert too |
|
We were visiting my husband's brother & wife in Florida back in March. One of the die-hard Republicans said she thinks she will vote for Kerry this year. I was so shocked I couldn't even bring myself to ask what made her switch. Polical talk on that side of the family is so horrible we've pretty much banned it, so I guess I'll just hope for the best.
Another Republican brother & wife are not voting for Bush because of the gay thing. They have lots of gay friends and don't like the thought of an amendment. You can bet this topic won't be coming up at the dinner table.

lives in Florida, too. But we've been talking for four years about how much we both abhor bush and jeb.
I'm waiting for my own changing their vote story..because the people I see in this town who were for bush in 2000..well I don't see any change of hearts on them.
But all my family and friends were for Gore and now Kerry.

Hey, if my father tells me he is voting for Kerry, you can bet that it's a 50-state landslide. LOL
My dad used to live in Louisiana and proudly voted for David Duke. When they come to visit he wants to keep Fox on 24/7.
