Hillary's Power Play -- Split The Party, Win in 2012 For The DLC |
|
Edited on Sat May-24-08 12:07 PM by BushDespiser12
It is all about power. Her imminent loss in these primaries, and the resultant weakening of political clout, has forced her hand. She is dividing the party, sacrificing what should be an easy Democratic win in the GE to further her ambitions.
A win for Obama this year strips the Clintons of their preeminent position as heads of the party. His success would negate any chance of them reclaiming the WH come 2012 and they are playing the desperation card now in a malicious maneuver to thwart such an outcome. The party and country be damned! 'McCain would be a sitting duck in 4 years.'
Shedding the mantle of power is not an option for the Clintons. It is win at all costs. They have invested too much.

1. And Obama's on it, creating a new power-infrastructure, and weakening the Vultures' |
|
grasp on the existing one. Just so that Vulture McClinton's party-machine power play will fail.
He's got all of the bases covered. We'll have to wait and see who wins, of course.

2. His team is amazingly adept at foreseeing impediments and charting |
|
a proper course around them. It is a sign of great leadership.

The skills that have been exhibited thus far bode well for us.

8. Did she actually think he rose like a meteor through Chicago politics just because... |
|
...he was a smooth-talking pretty boy? I mean, yeah, I know that some of the Hill-dolts in here do -- but she couldn't have possibly been that stupid, could she?
Oh, wait...after yesterday....maybe.

9. I certainly underestimated him - that's why I was an Edwards guy at the start... |
|
Knowing what I know now, and seeing what I've seen from him, I'd be with him from the get-go, had I to do it over again. (Which is no insult to Edwards.)

11. As was I...but I won't forget his address to the Dem Convention in '04. |
|
He was electrifying, and I knew he was going to be a superstar in the party. I just had no idea it would be this soon..

7. Thinking you are correct. |
|
However, the desperation is evident in her campaign. Multiple references to Bobby Kennedy's assassination is an intentional tactic... the Clintons are far too calculating to make the same "gaffe" over and over and over. We are watching something quite historical here, and I am trying to rationalize her behavior. It is a spectacle.

6. 2012 is a non-starter for her. She would be roundly vilified as the 2008 Spoiler... |

...should McCain, by some stretch of the imagination, win in November. She'd have as much of a chance as Nader. And if Obama wins, she might just as well forget about it EVER happening...unless she plans to run when she's nearly 70.

12. Well, if they are intelligent enough to discern that, |
|
then the multiple references to the fate of Bobby Kennedy are even more disturbing...

15. k*r Excellent (and brave;) ... and then there was the Bill Buckner Moment |
|
Having figured out that she'd blown any future prospects in addition to the campaign, there was a tense moment followed by a brief reverie where the big gaffe occurred.
And that's how people will remember the effort.
There will be tough primary in New York. Lets bring back Tasini. I liked him, excellent debater (although HRC wouldn't debate) and tough union guy.
Nice, concise (I should take a lesson;) analysis.
