What happens if Hillary doesn't accept the RBC decision?
As I understand it, she has the right to appeal the decision. So in that case does the number needed for nomination stay at 2025? Who hears the appeal? Can the RBC just say sorry, this is the decision and whether you accept it or not, that's just the way it is?

1. Appeal the decision? If the STATES THEMSELVES ACCEPT IT? How the heck does that work?
She's already laughingstock-pathetic figure.

3. The RBC can kick the can down to the Convention's Credentials Committee?
Edited on Sun May-25-08 10:42 AM by featherman
Perhaps a candidate's or state delegation's appeal of the RBC decision kicks it there also?

4. She can appeal to the credentials committe
However that committe will be appointed by Howard Dean. She could also take the issue directly to the convention however the floor will be controlled by Obama.

Anything after June 3 is pot an pan banging to hurt Obama because she's bitter that she lost and that point I'm planning trips to DC to protest outside of her campaign office.

5. I understand she CAN appeal it, and if that's the case it would
go to another committee...at the Convention in August. I Read that somewhere but don't know if it's true. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful.

6. Of the [DNC rules] committee’s 30 members, a near-majority of 12 were Clinton supporters.
All of them—most notably strategist Harold Ickes—voted for Florida’s full disenfranchisement.

REALLY STRANGE NOW that she HAS TO APPEAL her own SUPPORTERS decision eh?

8. I believe it then gets appealed to the Convention Credentials Committee,
Edited on Sun May-25-08 10:46 AM by Occam Bandage
consisting of 25 Dean appointees, which would meet in July. While I might be wrong in my understanding, I believe that even if that committee goes against her, then 20% of the committee can decide to write a minority resolution, which would be voted on at the convention (without MI/FL, of course).

9. Aren't there busloads of Clinton supporters scheduled to attend??
Seems pretty clear she has no intention of accepting the decision unless it's the one she's spelled out.

10. I think you meant 'when' not 'if'.
When she rejects the rules committee ruling that the rules after all are the rules she will move on to a floor fight over the rules, which she will also lose. So the obvious follow up question is: 'what happens when Senator Clinton doesn't accept the vote on the floor of the convention?'.

15. She appeals to the credentials committee in July
Then she appeals their ruling to a floor fight at the convention.

Now do you see where the evil person is going with this?

17. She can appeal to the credentials committee.
If that doesn't work, she can try a minority report on the convention floor.

She can and will attempt to drag this thing out.
