Where was the outrage when Hilary made a similar comment to Time magazine?
Oh, that's right, it wasn't convenient for Obama to be outraged then. he wants an excuse to not consider her for VP, and he went looking for one.

Let me be clear, Hilary's comments were stupid and she should know better, but to imply that she meant anything about Obama being shot is sick.

1. Has she specifically said the word 'assassinated' before? I don't believe so...

4. Oh my, yes she commented about Bobby Kennedy being shot...
...so there...but I guess if you have to be outraged about a word, then you're beyond hope.

11. What, exactly, was the point in bringing it up at all? BOBBY KENNEDY JOINED IN MARCH. It IS NOT
comparable. It was a disgusting and flawed comparison. Someone so 'experienced' should know better. And if she did know better, she is disgusting.

13. People who are behind shouldn't campaign into June - look what happened to RFK
I suspect the above would engender outrage as well and would be read as malicious even though it is just stating an observation based on a fact.

3. Obama didn't seem too outraged this time either, did he?
He just once again said he would take her at her word.

And no, he didn't add, "as far as I know".

6. Since his camp issued a statement with a LINK to her comments...
I'd call that outrage, and in every story I've read, the writer notes that Obama and his people were "livid."

5. There was lots of outrage then
Bloggers began writing the KEnnedy family over it, especially Teddy.

That's when they dropped the RFK reference.

21. The reference was not dropped, only the word assassination...
using phrasing like this instead:

"Um, You know, I remember very well what happened in the California primary in 1968 as Sen. Kennedy won that primary."

Full quote for context:

"But I also think it's still early, I mean everybody is so focused on where we are right now, I, I, guess I remember in June of '92 that's when Bill really wrapped up the nomination, the middle of June after the California primary. Um, You know, I remember very well what happened in the California primary in 1968 as Sen. Kennedy won that primary."

7. I've heard outrage from DU but not Obama or his campaign
Hillary screwed up the media jumped all over it like they tend to do when a lead politician sticks their foot in it and DU started a circular firing squad as usual when a lead politician sticks there foot in it.

8. Excuse me, when was Obama outraged by this? Do you have a direct quote
The only thing I heard Obama say, ONLY WHEN ASKED, was something to the effect that mistatements happen, and he takes her explanation for it

That doesn't sound like "outrage" to me

14. What a truly stupid post
I haven't read anywhere where Obama was outraged -- so you're attributing motive to him is just idiotic.

A lot of normal decent people are outraged. Part of the outrage stems from the fact that this is part of a pattern of behavior on her part. Maybe there was less outrage several months ago because she was still getting a free pass on her sleazy behavior. But, for most people -- apparently Hillary supporters, like Bush's 28 percenters, don't fall into this category -- there comes a time when enough is enough.

16. 3rd time was the charm
I've been listening to this scary rhetoric for a while from them and making a mental noe of it. Obviously the Press has too and Olberman should have apologized to us instead of her for them not doing their job after the Time piece. It is simply unacceptable to reference political assassination in nearly any context to the mass media when you know your opponent, and probably yourself, have received death threats from day one.

18. Two different situations
There is one thing to be quoted by a paper or magazine. Sometimes they get quotes wrong. Its an entirely another thing to be seen on video tape or audio making the same statement.

19. the reactions are not from Obama
But from Democratic voters.

This just shows the way her mind works. I'm glad she was called out on it. This time it's on video, and that always helps. Although it is painful to read, it is much more painful to watch.

It certainly does disqualify her from being Veep.

24. Well, how about linking to the Time comment?
This is a really stupid and vague post. Same with the Huckabee one you did earlier, especially since I saw a hell of a lot of outrage here about his comments.

Better yet, how 'bout you stop being so outraged? Me thinks you need to step away for a bit.

Besides people waiting to see the urologist? Looks like the Argus-Leader has better readership than TIME, maybe they can raise their ad rates.

30. Live feed to Fox News
Hillary's new "friends" at Fox immediately sent the tape to Drudge.
From Drudge to the internet explosion to the Wall Street media.
Where's the Obama campaign in this chain of events?
Did they force Clinton to say something stupid and then send the video file to Fox?
If that is the proposition, some proof would be nice.

The outrage started long before Friday.
Ted Kennedy had had enough in January after this NH disaster:

"Today, in Dover, Francine Torge said this while introducing Mrs. Clinton: “Some people compare one of the other candidates to John F. Kennedy. But he was assassinated. And Lyndon Baines Johnson was the one who actually” passed the civil rights legislation.
The comment, an apparent reference to Senator Barack Obama, is particularly striking given documented fears among blacks that Mr. Obama will be assassinated if elected.
Phil Singer, a Clinton spokesman said: “We were not aware that this person was going to make those comments and disapprove of them completely. They were totally inappropriate.

Mrs. Clinton’s expression did not change noticeably when Ms. Torge made the comment."

And, no, I don't think she meant to say the word "assasinate." But, I do believe in Freudian slips and repressed thoughts.

32. KO addressed this and said the media was to blame for not calling her out back then.
He said they did a "disservice" to her by not calling her on it in March.

It is the media keeping this alive, not Obama.
