Let those of us who are supporting Obama |
|
take an example from Obama.
Is he attacking Hillary Clinton these days?
No.
Why not?
Because he knows that he has won the primary, and that attacking Hillary Clinton is, at this point unnecessary and counterproductive.
Is not the same true for those of us who support Obama?

4. I appreciate your point, but sometimes the expression of outrage is required. |
|
Maybe because of my strong memories and feelings about 1968, this incident has really hit a nerve for me. It's become inextricably linked with every other awful thing that Democrats have allowed and enabled since 2000.
The combined weight of all these atrocities, committed by my country, while Democrats including Hillary Clinton stood around and twiddled her thumbs - they just came crashing down on me when I read the transcript of Hillary's comments on Friday.
I am outraged. Everybody should be outraged. Everybody should tell Hillary Clinton and every other candidate of any party that they better not even dream of saying something like this ever again, and now they better go get to work to dig us out of the horrific mess they helped create.

5. I think that a good rational rebuke of her comments is fine! Such as the one at the following link. |

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=132x6111220I don't like the nasty and insulting comments that some posters use, but rational and constructive comments are what I think DU is all about!

have a right to continue to discuss what's going on with HRC and her campaign.
At least until last Friday Hillary indicated she would go as far as possible and it's also understood that she'd like the VP slot. Analyzing the negative aspects of her campaign tactics should not be taken to be "attacks," implying something unfair or counterproductive. People have a right to chew on it, do post-mortem analyzes, do whatever they like with what Hillary's team puts out there. It's critical to understanding what has gone on in these primaries.
You can call for a civilized level of dialogue, OK. Fair enough. OK to ask people not to go over a certain line of basic respect. But don't characterize everything anyone says against HRC as an attack, and please don't imply that people should basically shut up about it.
It ain't over til it's over. When it's officially over you have more of a leg to stand on with this argument. Which is one of the reasons why it should be over. But...it's not.

It is true that we can take Obama's lead --- for now. Give her the grace to end her campaign in short order after June 3rd.
But if Hillary insists on carrying this protracted and wasteful fight all through the summer to the convention floor, we should take both gloves off.
