I hope Obama wins the GE. Our country needs a break from republican rule. |
|
But even if he doesn't win, it's good to know that the Clinton "dynasty" has been ended.

2. Clinton was better than either Bush, but their control over the party was not so good over the years |

3. Apparenly, to some here, |
|
AbC (Anybody but Clinton)includes John McCain. It is really, really sad that OP are now actually stating that a third bush term would be preferable. This mass hysteria is completely out of hand.
There are a lot here who really, really need to grow up. There are many -on both sides- who seem to believe that in order to support one Democrat the others must be vilified and downright hated, even if issues are pulled out of thin air. Immaturity seems to rule the day lately.

5. McCain may indeed be more HONORABLE than W Bush, but his rule could be EVEN WORSE ... |
|
A third Bush term is unwanted, but we might get an even MORE militaristic presidency than the Bushes, and YES, Virginia, that IS imaginable (if terrifying)

I've seen more Hillary supporters here say that they won't vote for Obama, than I've seen Obama supporters say they wouldn't vote for Hillary.
YMMV.
If you would be so kind, point me to an Obama supporter that says a third Bush term would be preferable to Hillary. I know I missed that. Thanks.

9. Then you just are not looking. |

There are even those Obama supporters who are saying they won't vote for HIM if she is on the ticket. How sick is that?

11. I'll be honest - I wouldn't love Hillary on the ticket. But a McCain |
|
presidency is just too horrible to imagine. He is more militaristic than Bush, and smarter than him (wouldn't take much...). I would vote Obama/Clinton rather than take that risk. I know many of my fellow Obama supporters feel the same way.

12. I have seen that but . . . |
|
I believe that's just hyperbole. We're in the midst of a heated campaign and people wanting to make the point that they don't think Hillary should be on the ticket can say that. I don't think people generally vote in the GE based on who the VP is. By November, cooler heads will prevail.
Nonetheless, the people making posts around here that say they will not vote for Obama if Clinton is on the ticket have indicated that they will sit out the GE (or vote downticket only). You contend that these people have said that they would rather see McCain elected than Clinton. I haven't seen that.

16. I've heard that as well, |

but only from cross-over republican voters, who absolutely hate Hillary anyway. I haven't heard it from a Democrat.

4. R U suggesting a McCain win would be better than continuing the 'Clinton Dynasty'??? |
|
Talk about cutting off your nose to spite your face ...
As for the general comment -- this country needs a break from the Repugs' rule -- a LONG LONG LONG LONG LONG break. Maybe if Obama wins and is effective and popular, the Repugs would go the way of the Whigs (although a new party lineup would no doubt emerge, perhaps along the lines of Lamont v Lieberman)

We need more than "a break", which term suggests a mere hiatus beyween legitimate rulers.
And a 2-term President doesn't make a "dynasty", unlike the already-12 years of a Bush (not to mention the Harrison family).

7. IMO, it's very likely Obama won't win 2 terms. Too much ugly to deal with. BUT, he will change |
|
Edited on Tue May-27-08 07:40 AM by cryingshame
the trajectory our country has been on and spiraling down ever more quickly.
I am ready and hoping to be pleasantly surprised if he does win 2 terms.

13. So, you are willing to destroy the country because of your irrational obsession? |
|
Hate does really, really, bizarre things to a persons sense of judgment. IF Obama loses, adios supreme court, and the constitution (and Roe v wade) with it.
