Hillary is awful Awful AWFUL
Edited on Tue May-27-08 06:58 AM by shellgame26
It is beyond me how anyone can still support this woman. Can you ask yourselves honestly (hillary supporters) if it had been Obama who made a not so veiled reference about his opponent being assassainated as a reason to remain in the race, dumping millions of his own money for some hoped for downfall, had he endorsed Mccain over her, had he lied about being under sniper fire, had his campaign been a disorganized mess, had he lost 11 straight contests, had he been behind in EVERY SINGLE MATRIX and still behaved as though he was entitled to the nomination, had he made a blatantly racist comment about hard-working black people supporting him, had he had to fire his campaign strategist for double dealing with the Columbians on a trade deal he opposed...and so much more...WOULD HE STILL BE IN THIS RACE TODAY? It is obvious that the only reason she is still in this primary race is BECAUSE OF HER LAST NAME....Jesus H Christ..what kind of a feminist is that???

1. I am thankful that the REAL Hillary was revealed to us before it was too late. I like the fact that
...she's a scraper but she should be able to pick her fights with wisdom.

2. She has been unable to pick her fights, words, or campaign
manager with wisdom, which says a whole lot about nonexistent judgment on her part.

6. by "the library", you must mean a hardbound copy of the "Collected works of Sean Wilentz"....
and "The wit and wisdom of Geraldine Ferraro".

4. She and Bill both come across as desperate, flustered and unprofessional.
Politics isn't beanbag but even a very good friend of mine finally stepped away from defending Hillary after she uttered that word ON VIDEO.

7. How is this helpful?
Believe me, I understand the animosity towards Hillary. But this type of post really doesn't do anything productive does it now?

Like I tell my kids when they are arguing...remember we're all on the same team:)

She is attempting to undermine the legitimacy of Obama's win.

9. I do understand....
and quite frankly I agree with you. But posting negative and emotionally-laden things like this don't really help the situation, do they? .... really? Let's not stoop to her level. I happen to think that Obama has enough "good stuff" going for him that we can afford to rise above this sort of thing:)

at least I think you were being kind... I find suspecting the best of people is always beneficial to my blood pressure:)

And in turn, I'll express my appreciation for your passion about the issues. Sometimes the passion of folks like you is what keeps things rolling along when it is tempting to give it all up. I'm glad we are on the same team:)

13. I'm with you. This kind of OP is so unhelpful.
I've disliked Bill Clinton for many years, and I NEVER wanted Hillary Clinton to be the Dem presidential nominee. And I've certainly found much about her campaign to be utterly appalling.

But enough, already. I want no part of burning her in effigy.

15. Yes.....
and I am concerned with the effect this type of thing has on Hillary's supporters. Some of them are harsh ideologues to be sure, but many (most?) are well meaning, dedicated folk who must be so disappointed and heartbroken at this point. I have no desire to humiliate them or kick them when they are down. Hey, haven't we all had the experience of seeing your beloved candidate face defeat? Pretty devastating on its own... let's not make it worse for them.

coolest heads here. I know you mean well, but take a look downthread, and you'll see why some of us now despise the Clintons, and anyone who supports them. I'm the first to admit that I can be as unreasonable as they are, and I wish I could be as objective as you are, but when their hit & run attacks are coordinated at various other hate sites, I find I have no empathy at all for them.

When I grow up, I certainly hope I'll have your calm & rational level headedness. Remember, I told you I think you're probably like the best Mom in the world? Well, I meant that.

And I do understand the animosity towards the Clintons... sadly, those posts downthread are no surprise to me. But let's not let others' inappropriate behavior induce us to act likewise... let's choose to be above that sort of thing. It takes two to argue, two to allow conflict to escalate, but only one to stop the fighting:)

and yes, I do remember that wonderful compliment you paid me a while back... you made my day on that day too:hug:

18. You are way off line.
Her comments may have been insensitive, but they were not a veiled implication that Obama could be assassinated. Believe it or not, the world doesn't revolve around Obama. She was just asking why were people trying to push her out when in 1992 Bill didn't clinch the nomination until the middle of June and in 1968 Bobby was campaigning in CA also in June. She shouldn't have mentioned his assassination, but in no way did it have anything to do with Obama.

Leave it to the punditry and his supporters to go into a tizzy over this non-issue.

27. I am supporting Obama because
1) He has built the most awesome grassroots campaign in history, and he did it by hiring honest, talented people and smartly delegating responsibilities in order to run an effective well-oiled machine.
2) He had no name recognition, unlike some other candidate.
3) He is beholden to no one, except the 1.5 million ordinary people like you and me who have powered his campaign.
4) He has demonstrated that he is not willing to engage in the obsolete 20th century smear, hit&run tactics.
5) He has demonstrated that he trusts himself enough to act independently on issues that may sometimes go against the status quo.
6) He has never lied about being under sniper fire. (For the life of me, I don't understand how anyone can forgive that!)
7) and most importantly of all HE IS WINNING.

This whole "outrage" over the assassination comment is absurd. People are deliberately twisting it into something it's not, for political gain.
