What we political novices didn't get about Hillary's comment last week
See now DU is great for information and ideas and all but we aren't the sharp political experts and brainy juggernaut of the Clinton campaign staffs league. You have your Lanny Davis's and Wolfsons and MacAuliffes and even Mark Penn in some way. You and I just can't understand the four or maybe fives moves ahead that these guys think in, it is really beyond our abilities. I mean how many of you went to Harvard or Yale?? I ask you.

No see what you and I thought was the second or third maybe even FOURTH time that Hillary has at least mentioned RFK's assassination and how mindgogglingly stupid that would be in any election let alone in the DEMOCRATIC PARTY'S nomination race but it wasn't in fact is the astounding level of genius that typifies this campaign.

See while you and I are just thinking about, say, the next week or even the convention Team Hillary is looking long-range. They are looking out past Denver and into the general election. And not only that they are looking to gain and edge in a state that they were completely trounced in but they know, because they are so smart, how to win over the locals how to invoke their political heritage and that spells -- WIN!!!!

That comment wasn't for Puerto Rico or South Dakota or Montana that comment was for

NORTH CAROLINA!!!

and for the general election (after her stunning come from "can't mathematically win" to VICTORY!!!)

the locals in NC know what she was talking about.......... they know when they have heard that sort of talk before

"if Clinton wants to come to North Carolina, he'd better bring a bodyguard".

1. I think people ARE getting it!
I've noticed a trickle of DU discussions about this very topic.

People are getting it. The fact is---as you said---Hillary has mentioned RFK's assassination on at least three accounts.

That means--it was a talking point. A talking point that was crafted by writers, for a specific reason. A talking point
the Clintons wanted in the public consciousness.

Many people have compared Obama to RFK. Furthermore, he is an African American candidate and people have speculated
about something happening to him. People are scared and many have lived through the assassinations of King, RFK and JFK.

Bottom line. Hillary has repeated this deliberate talking point in order to plant fear and doubt about Obama--in order
to leverage herself.

That's what she did. She used a very painful national trauma to weaken Obama in the minds of the voters.

People really need to get that.

And just for the record--I took one class at Harvard. Just one though. Abnormal psychology. :)

5. No, I just took one class...
...and I did nothing exceptional to get in.

I'm no Harvard brain. I'm a state university brain though...which will get you a free bowl of soup (maybe).

:)

6. I don't even pretend to know what goes on in their warped minds. But I do know this, every time the
Clintons play this insane game they are called out on it, and people see through it and see them for 'who' and 'what' they really are. She is going no where, regardless of what the future may bring.

Too many people have seen the light in this regard.
