To Randi Rhodes Listeneres....
Edited on Thu Aug-12-04 03:27 PM by dennis4868
I have been listening to Rhodes since she has been on AAR. I have never heard her say that in her opinion Bush lied/exxagerated the threat from Iraq before the war. Is she one of those (spineless) Dems that give Bush a free pass here and say that Bush did not lie but instead was given bad intelligence from the CIA and relied on it? She does not seem to be a so-called spineless Dem and therefore I am suprised that I have not heard her come out and say Bush lied/exxagerated the threat from Iraq.

If anyone takes an objective look at the facts, it is quite obvious that:

1. The October 2002 National Intelligence Estimate (NIE)on Iraq was wrong. All Estimates before October 2002 said that Saddam was NO THREAT AT ALL. Question is, how did things change so much in such a short amount of time. As we all know, many CIA officials said they felt pressured by the WH to give them the "evidence" they wanted. As a matter of fact, Dems on the Senate Select Commitee for Intelligence said that many CIA officials told them they did in feel pressured by the WH to give them what they wanted.

2. The Iraqi threat in the NIE was hyped....but Bush and Cheney went one step further and hyped the hype....Bush and Cheney over and over said things to the american people and to congress in private meetings (according to senators) that was not backed up even by the NIE and was in direct conflict (6 months away from a nuclear weapon, MASSIVE stockpile of bio weapons, unmanned aerial vehicles, etc...)with what other intelligence agencies were saying (i.e., DIA, INR, Air Force). So yes, Bush was lieing and exxagerating the threat even worse than the NIE.

Yet I never hear Dems say this...they are spineless and are giving Bush a free pass on the worst scandal in this country's history!

2. I haven't been an avid listener of her, but
I seem to recall that she has said that she didn't believe Bush's claims.

4. I heard that to....
but I get the feeling she is hesitatnt to come out and just say Bush lied....to me this is the worst scandal this country has ever seen....you would think if she believed that Bush lied she would have said it over and over and it would not be a question whether or not she said it.

3. You haven't been listening then.
Not only does she think Bush* lied, she believes in LIHOP. You're barking up the wrong tree if you're looking for spineless liberals. She defends John Kerry for trusting Bush*, but she then and now claimed Bush* was a liar trying to force us start an illegal invasion.

6. Randi is "spineless?" What are you smoking?
I've been listening to her for several years (bless the internet). I've heard her call Bush a liar on any number of occasions, and specifically on the WMD issue plenty of times.

Calling RR "spineless" is like calling Dick Cheney "cuddly" or Ralph Nader "selfless." Or maybe you're trolling. A lot of Nader supporters hate her for calling him the schmuck he is to his face in an interview last spring. Could that be it?

She's one of the toughest, most tell-it-exactly-like-it-damn-well-is voices in the American media. She's got more spine in her tongue than most people have in their backs.

12. You must not be listening
she calls Bush and the Republicans liars ALL OF THE TIME- and not just of the Iraq issue.

You must be listening to a different station than I do.

14. I guess it was the spineless thing
of all of the people to imply spinelessness to, I think you picked the wrong one... she was railing for almost the entire show yesterday about how the Kerry camp needs to fight back- in essense, calling them spineless. She even had calls in to Kerry's "response team," who finally ended up putting an admiral on the line to discuss Kerry's vote.

Unfortunately, he wouldn't really address why Kerry's people refuse to respond... and why they let Bush continue to distort his record with impunity.

15. Mike Malloy....
almost had a heart attach last night saying Kerry has to understand what he is up against...not simply the repub slimeballs but the media as well. He therefore needs to be careful how he says things and to be clear, not nuanced full statements.
