2. I imagine that would depend on whether the person likes Edwards.
I don't. I had him as my last choice, Obama second to last, and Clinton a little above that. So, Obama choosing the one candidate I disliked and distrusted more than him wouldn't make me more likely to vote for him.

Then again, he doesn't need to worry about my vote. I won't vote for McCain, and though I despise Obama, I still won't vote for McCain. Nor will I be a chicken-shit and vote for a third candidate or stay home. I'll vote straight ticket, probably, so I won't have to actually put my mark by his name.

Obama needs to worry about someone who will attract moderate and conservative independents, not Clinton supporters. Of course, Obama will shift back to the right for the GE, so maybe that's not what he needs to strengthen. I wonder how many of his supporters will scream "betrayal!" when he does that.

4. First of all...
I don't think it matters to many Clinton supporters who Obama chooses; they are still going to be unhappy. I am not certain they would be happy if he chose Hillary. From many of my long time Democratic friends who are supporting Hillary, they are truly just bitter about her situation and many of them call Obama a "snake oil salesman". I keep trying to remind them that he is a Democratic and not in name only (like dear Joe) and that not supporting the nominee is ridiculous. I just don't understand. If the reverse were true, while I might not like to have Hillary as my choice, I would never consider not voting for the Dem nominee.

5. If he puts Hillary on the ticket, not only will I go to the polls to vote for him,
I will skip the whole way there and cast my ballot with a smile on my face.

6. I would find it almost impossible to vote for such a ticket.
There really isn't a politician in the Democratic Party that annoys me more than John Edwards.

I bit tongue and voted for him with Kerry in 2004, but I don't know if I could do it again.

Besides which, Edwards would be the worst possible VP pick for Obama. It would be his fourth campaign platform in four years, only furthering suggestions that he is a phony. Not to mention that it is quite a stretch to run a campaign based on "change" if you are running reruns.

Either way, I live in Illinois, so I doubt I would be missed much.

7. The fact that this is even a question should wake up anyone who buys into the idea

that Hillary supporters are loyal Democrats.

In these times especially LOYAL DEMOCRATS SUPPORT THE DEMOCRATIC CANDIDATE! Support for Obama should be automatic. Anything else divides the party and helps McCain & the GOP.

And for those Hillary supporters who will get all whiney & say "Not us! We're not dividing the party!" BULLSHIT! You candidate lost. Its time to sit down, shut up & work for Obama to win in Nov.
