And that pretty much sums it up
Edited on Tue May-27-08 03:07 PM by Sundoggy
Hillary goes into the rules committee meeting with guns blazing, her (wait and see) insane-looking supporters chanting and screaming outside.

The Obama supporters vow not to take this lying down and begin organizing to be there too, to show that these extremists are NOT the face of the majority. And what does Obama do?

Tells them to stand down. Now THAT'S class, folks. And that's what I've seen in this man all along, and that's why I will be proud to vote for him in November.

Excerpt from an email, full DKos diary here: http://www.dailykos.com/story/2008/5/27/143533/931/88/523677

I don't mean to rain on anyone's parade, but under direction from
Chicago HQ we are being asked NOT to hold any events like this. For
several political and media reasons, I have been asked to relay the
message that only those Obama supporters who obtained tickets to sit
inside the meeting should attend. No outside
protests/rallies/gatherings, no matter how
peaceful/positive/well-intentioned.

If you would like to be involved in the counter-event (voter
registration in Northern VA) please let me know.

This is absolutely the right thing to do. Refuse to get in that mud wrestling pit with the screaming Hillary people.

A candidate is SUPPOSED to be wiser than his or her supporters. A candidate is SUPPOSED to lead. Nice to see one do so for a change.

Edited to add:

HOW DO WE FOLLOW this philosophy right here, right now?

NO MORE HILLARY ATTACKING, no matter how she deserves it.

NO MORE TROLL FEEDING, no matter how hungry they are. Starve them so much that it's laughable when they talk about how they get treated.

Think like Obama.

her to put fake Obama supporters there. They've done it before like the last protest.

22. The last protest
had people wearing shirts who were supposedly supporters of all the candidates and all of them were Clinton backers. I fully expect similar behavior from her again.

I'm prepared to help registration efforts in NVA
The Enablers are prepared to destroy the Democratic party while Obama supporters are much better prepared to build the party. ;)

I would like to also add my plea for everyone to stop baiting the Clinton supporters. If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all.

30. A different kind of campaign, a different kind of politician...
it all leads to a new kind of politics. I have to say, it's rather strange to see a candidate preserving his dignity for once. I'm not quite sure what to think about it! :P
