Just a reminder of who we MUST BEAT in November!!!
Every now and then I feel like I need to put something like this in to remind people what we are ALL supposed to be fighting for.

I just went to http://www.johnmccain.com/ to capture just two issues that are extremely important to many of us to remind you what is really at stake here.

PLEASE read these and REMEMBER that YOUR VOTE IS IMPORTANT! Don't throw it away because you are pissed off! This election is BIGGER THAN YOU!

Human Dignity and the Sanctity of Life

Overturning Roe v. Wade

John McCain believes Roe v. Wade is a flawed decision that must be overturned, and as president he will nominate judges who understand that courts should not be in the business of legislating from the bench.

Constitutional balance would be restored by the reversal of Roe v. Wade, returning the abortion question to the individual states. The difficult issue of abortion should not be decided by judicial fiat.

However, the reversal of Roe v. Wade represents only one step in the long path toward ending abortion. Once the question is returned to the states, the fight for life will be one of courage and compassion - the courage of a pregnant mother to bring her child into the world and the compassion of civil society to meet her needs and those of her newborn baby. The pro-life movement has done tremendous work in building and reinforcing the infrastructure of civil society by strengthening faith-based, community, and neighborhood organizations that provide critical services to pregnant mothers in need. This work must continue and government must find new ways to empower and strengthen these armies of compassion. These important groups can help build the consensus necessary to end abortion at the state level. As John McCain has publicly noted, "At its core, abortion is a human tragedy. To effect meaningful change, we must engage the debate at a human level."

Strategy for Victory in Iraq

The Importance of Succeeding

John McCain believes it is strategically and morally essential for the United States to support the Government of Iraq to become capable of governing itself and safeguarding its people. He strongly disagrees with those who advocate withdrawing American troops before that has occurred.

It would be a grave mistake to leave before Al Qaeda in Iraq is defeated and before a competent, trained, and capable Iraqi security force is in place and operating effectively. We must help the Government of Iraq battle those who provoke sectarian tensions and promote a civil war that could destabilize the Middle East. Iraq must not become a failed state, a haven for terrorists, or a pawn of Iran. These likely consequences of America's failure in Iraq almost certainly would either require us to return or draw us into a wider and far costlier war.

The best way to secure long-term peace and security is to establish a stable, prosperous, and democratic state in Iraq that poses no threat to its neighbors and contributes to the defeat of terrorists. When Iraqi forces can safeguard their own country, American troops can return home.

2. Lather, Rinse, REPEAT!!!
This needs repeated hourly! The attention spans around here seem to be dwindling, and memories fading.

McCain is the real enemy... and all the energies spent elsewhere fighting imaginary foes like Obama and Clinton only put us that much more in the hole in the real war.

Wake up people!

5. That's how I feel
We need to remember this isn't American Idol. I beg everyone to try and keep the Supreme Court in their minds. That is far more important than anything else. I will not have the blood of innocents on my hands. Even if you have to hold your nose, PLEASE think of future generations and stick with the party!

7. That is especially disappointing from women.
The future safety of our daughters depends on McCain NOT getting in. Not to mention not rushing into yet another war. That is what is important.

8. What do you mean they won't buy it?
Do they think McCain is lying and will really be a wonderful, liberal, pro-women President?

9. I think that people are underestimating
the damage he can do as president, or they think that maybe there will be a true Democratic majority in the house and senate that will keep him from doing as much harm as he could ordinarily do.

22. Sure would
I liked "Pontius Pilate and The Naildrivers," but some English wankers in a ska cover band recently took the name. I shoulda copyrighted it 20 years ago. My version would have been punk-metal + H.P Lovecraft + Marshall amps that go to 11. :headbang:

17. None of the Hillary supporters I have spoken to on here seem to care
:banghead: apparently Choice isn't a big issue to a lot of the Hillary supporters here. Its better for young women to die than to support the Democratic nominee.
