DU, your anger is justified!

I have noticed a few "shame on you DU" posts recently, scolding the members for playing dirty or for simply being mean. Certainly, there has been some gratuitous verbal violence from both sides of the Obama/Clinton battle, that is unfortunate but as Obama said, "it's silly season" and politics is a full contact sport. On balance, I commend the moderators for putting out the disruptors while allowing as much free speech as possible.

The stakes for this fall's contest could not be higher. Obama, in my view, equals the best chance we have of creating a safer and sane planet. Literally speaking, Obama means more peace in the world -McSame means more war in the world.

So when we see Hillary Clinton as potentially marginalizing Obama's chances in the GE by dragging us through a contentious morass all the way to the convention, folks react with passion and concern. With world peace on the line, I think the emotions are justified.

Personal attacks aside, the Clinton's will do just fine post primaries. Any campaign debt will be easily recouped in speaking fees alone. Even after all we have been through, I still wish Hillary the best. There was a time I held both Bill and Hillary in high regard. I truly hope she exits very soon with her dignity intact.

I empathize and relate to the strong feeling on DU to move the focus to the real battle ahead against John McCain and his war mongering minions. Your anger is justified DU. There is no shame in fighting for a noble cause. We only have world peace on the line.

3. K&R! The people threatening to stay home or vote McCain, essentially because

their feelings got a little bruised by overzealous Obama supporters, disgust and horrify me. The fact that they would place more importance on their own egos (or their candidate's) than on the state of the nation and the world, is absolutely mind-boggling, more so in times like these.

as possible for going into battle against McCain.

So, unless your intent is to permanently banish every last partisan who ever pissed you off, it seems to me that taking a little care with how we speak to those with whom we more properly ought to be allied is an elementary strategic calculation.

Yeah, righteous anger feels so righteous, but how useful is it really?

I have made it a point to not insult Hillary supporters personally for their choice; and your right scarletwoman, we do need as many Dems as possible to vote for our nominee. Yet I feel no need to be polite regarding Hillary the candidate. She knew what she was getting into; and clearly wants to stay in it (at whatever the cost). But we have been in this primary slog for 16 months now, and things will feel very different when we have a common enemy.

How useful is righteous anger? Apparently useful enough to motivate Dems to come to the voting booth in historically high numbers during the primaries. Are we mad? You bet! And thankfully, we do not march in lockstep like the pukes. How good will it be when we can focus our anger collectively in a far more constructive direction!

It will lead to wonderfully better things. Of that, I am optimistic.

8. It's time to move to the GE and stop pissing around with this primary.

I am genuinely disgusted and very angry with the Clintons right now, but when she ultimately gets it through her thick skull that she lost the nomination, she needs to go away and we will think of her no more.

My eyes are on the prize and we get to the White House through McCain.
