Incredible. Disgusting. Media And Rethugs Bashing Obama On Concentration Camp
The German death camps and concentration camps are the most awful things that have been visited upon the civilized world. 12 million people were starved, gassed, burned, tortured, and/or worked to death.

So Obama, speaking of his uncle's liberation of a camp, got the name of the camp wrong. It is beyond despicable that anyone would sully the actions of Obama's uncle, and his generation of fellow Americans who saved the world, by attacking Obama to create a cloud of confusion.

Shame. Shame.

I give credit to Anderson Cooper and Candy Crowley...but the "teaser" made it seem like it was a BIG mistake.

6. This only plays up Obama's hero roots.
Yeah, when the story gets out to the Jewish community that Obama's relative was a concentration camp liberator, that'll really hurt him in the GE.

So he gets a name wrong?

It ends up gettign way more pub for him that if it had gone unnoticed and it is totally 100% positive information.

it was funny how they discussed whether or not this was comparable to Hillary's sniper-fire LIE and of course the conclusion was no.

that level of ignorance, particularly in a man running for the highest office of the land.
Moreover, what 'ta hell is wrong with his speech writing staff???? Why didn't they pick this up???
Recall, Obama is also the fellow that (in the grand tradition of Bush) said he didn't need to know all the details cuz he could hire staff and advisors to tend to such matters.

24. It was a mistake...
...It's not like he didn't know the difference between the two concentration camps, or mixed
up their locations on a map.

Obama misspoke.

I'm disgusted. The subject of the Holocaust is such a tender and painful topic. To swoop
in and begin eviscerating a Presidential candidate, for making a mistake--is cruel
and insensitive.

I guess there will always be someone crouching in the bushes, waiting for Obama to slip up
or make a mistake---so eager to pounce and pontificate about what an honest mistake means
in the broader sense.

This kind of venom--especially within the context of discussing a war hero who liberated
a concentration camp--is more than I can stomach.

27. There is one thing people should have NO DOUBT about, mccain WILL overturn roe v wade
He has stated that as his goal, and has stated he will appoint Supreme Court judges to insure it happens

This isn't a joke or an idle threat

Stevens is 87 plus years old

Ginsberg and Breyer are also potentially ready to step down

We can play all the games we want with each other, but the facts remain what will happen to civil rights, gender rights, and human rights if mccain is elected

The two advantages we have is that mccain is an extension of bush, and bush is not particularly popular, and that Bob Barr will be running as a Libertarian, which might help us

The polls do not take into account Barr or the young people, but unfortunately what the polls do say, is that there are a certain percentage of Clinton supporters who will not vote for the Democrat if it isn't Clinton

That is extremely an extremely self-hating, and nader like philosophy that can only hurt the country and that party

I was raised in Reform Jewish home, and attended classes regularly associated with our synagogue in which we learned all kinds of things related to the history of Judaism.

I can absolutely assure you that we did NOT go into all of the subtle details regarding which particular concentration camps were technically "extermination camps" and which were not.

We certainly learned of the locations of all of the most prominent camps, as well as the unspeakable horror that occurred within them. The most transparent kind of faux outrage that the GOP could muster!

69. I am of the impression that if obambi was going to make the remark
about the veterans, he could of at least known for sure how the man was actually related to him(great uncle, not uncle) and exactly what camp his platoon entered. The mediawhores can hype Clinton's one remark on RFK's primary race until it is a bigger story than the China Earthquake. But let's give Obama a pass on every stupid utterance (and there have been many). Pleeeeeease!

He is an empty suit looking for anything that can legitimize himself. He keeps talking about everyone else around him that is great because he has no significant accomplishments himself. This guy is a serious clown that has more "gaffes" than accomplishments.

Right: candidates make gaffes all the time--but let Hillary Clinton just mention the historical fact of RFK's horrifying assassination as a way to highlight her own continued hopes for the nomination and she is crucified by columnists and Obama's campaign. I, for one, am tired of the double standard protecting Obama. As Mr. Obama says repeatedly: "don't attack me, don't attack my family, that's old politics;" but its OK for his campaign--never Mr. Obama himself--to raise allegations of racism or, in the RFK matter, imply strongly that Hillary was hoping--incredibly--for harm to come to Mr. Obama.
