Oh Boy Obama.com: New Site That Allows Supporters To Give The Campaign Advice.

Campaign by Digg

Here's a new site to make heads explode in Chicago: an Obama "idea bank," to which Obama supporters can submit strategic suggestions to the campaign, and then rate them, with the community's views of the best ideas floating to the top.

Current leaders include Bill Richardson and Chuck Hagel for veep and "put slightly more focus on military/national security."

So far, Obama's maintained an enviable balance between tight strategic control and real community engagement, so this doesn't quite fit that mold, though it'll be interesting to see what they come up with

1. Just what every campaign needs: more armchair strategists.
It seems like every campaign has 10 people with that one grand idea that's going to win the election for every 1 person who actually does something useful to help. I guess this site will be helpful if it directs the know it alls there instead of having them nagging the staff who have real work to do.

5. This did not come from the Obama campaign.
I guess you don't believe in "we the people".

7. Of course it didn't come from the Obama campaign.
The official campaign will give people something productive to do instead of giving a sounding board to every idiot who thinks they know how to run a Presidential campaign. I have faith in people who actually DO SOMETHING USEFUL instead of bugging campaign staff with their hair brained ideas about how to win. There should be a rule that no one gets to tell the campaign how to win until they knock on at least 100 doors or register 50 voters. Put up or shut up.

2. Sounds good
95% of the ideas might be ridiculous or not possible but a good idea might make it through

6. This is cool --
an easy way for the campaign to gauge what the supporters are thinking and suggesting. At a glance you can see the topic and its ratings.

I hope Obama takes advantage of this.
