Cynthia McKinney Close to Clinching Green Party Nomination

Cynthia McKinney now has the support of over 50% of the delegates to the Green Party national convention who have been chosen so far. Although not all state Green Parties have chosen their delegates, most of them have, so it is very likely that she will obtain the nomination. The national convention is July 10-13 in Chicago. This post originally said she had clinched the nomination, but that was not accurate.

cynthia has never been fairly portrayed by the media (gee imagine that!). I don't think she's a nut case. I do think that Bushco went all out to nuke her because she was the first lonely voice in Congress to question the BS official 9/11 story.

I am glad to see her resurface in a positive way. Don't underestimate her. She's made some mistakes, a couple of them very public, but she deserved a better fate than she has received.

Frankly I am sorry to see her compared herein to Lieberman or worse. Cynthia McKinney has a lot to offer and I think her campaign as the Green candidate will be strong.

That said, Obama's got my vote.

Evidence for:

1. Her father, who was her closest campaign adviser, is strongly anti-semitic. After she lost in 2002, he explicitly blamed the Jews, claiming that Jews had "bought" everyone else. Not "Zionists" or any code word. He blamed Jews. She didn't make any effort to distance herself, but instead simply said that the "hostile corporate media" brought her down. Not proof positive, but very telling.

2. She is strongly anti-Israel. Not reason to be anti-Semitic, but consistent with it.

3. She's a 9-11 conspiracy theorist, and has worked with other conspiracy theorists in books and videos implicating Zionists and the Mossad in 9/11. Not proof positive, and kind of distant, but still unnerving.
