Rachel Maddow believes Hillary will take it to the convention |
|
Rachel Maddow has stated that Hillary will not drop out and will take her case to the floor of the Democratic convention. The convention isn’t until August which gives John McCain a three-month free ride and gives us a perhaps insurmountable problem. Based on past outcomes, a convention floor fight on national TV will just about ensure that we'll lose the general election.
Hopefully, this won’t happen. The party is badly split right now and a brawl at the convention will be a disaster.
So my question is, what is Hillary thinking? Not only will she not get the nomination for president or VP, but she will lose any and all credibility she has within the Democratic Party. I doubt if she would be reelected as a NY senator. Any legacy she and Bill have would be forever dead and they would both be shunned by the party.
Next Tuesday is the last primary. After that, it’s time for Hillary to bow out with whatever dignity and grace she has left.

1. She only can take it to the convention |
|
if the Super Delegates that have already endorsed her allow her to do it. If they withdraw support before a supposed convention fight than she will not have the strength to mount a fight.

2. My thoughts have been all along that neither Hillary or Bill care much about... |
|
the party, but more about making sure that Hillary is the Presidential nominee. The attitude is, if I can't win then I will do a scorched earth policy on the Democratic party. Only question I would have with this path is? What purpose does it serve tearing down the Democratic party, are they planning to somehow tear it down and try to elevate the DLC into a rival party? Why on earth would she want to see a McCain Presidency or even risk one?

Then Hillary will know the true power of a woman who has never used her sex like a bludgeon.

5. Hillary won't bow out until she feels she has actually lost... |

superdelegates giving Obama the delegate count necessary
Hillary's money drying up
the party's encouragment to "call it a primary"
These are the things that have to happen IMHO

will become a laughingstock because she will go to the convention and still lose.
After Tues., she will be pitied and totally ignored. Sen. Obama will be the presumptive nominee and continue to ignore her and spar with McWar. She's a desperate, ego maniacal fool.

7. By June 10th, Hillary becomes a footnote in the contest. Media won't cover her. |
|
Once the DNC deals with Michigan and Florida this weekend, and the primaries conclude next week, this is over. The media will follow the Obama v. McCain race. Hillary will not have any primaries around which to garner attention. She won't have any DNC events. She'll have a summer of nothing to do but whine, and that isn't going to get her ugly mug on TV every day. Maybe once a week they'll have a "remember this crazy old lady?" story featuring her most recent diatribe, but other than that, she's history.

but it won't make any difference in the end. If she wants to be bankrupt, well that's her choice.

12. I'm inclined to believe her |

I think this is all a game to Hillary now. She just wants to go out with a big whiny bang for some reason. Her worst case scenario? Retire with Bill and their 109 million. Ours? McCain. She doesn't care about the country. Her and Bill probably have golden tickets to the illuminati's secret underground bunker/city.
